It was a funny old day at keighley we were all making bets in the car going down how many leigh were going to score and we all said it would be over the magic 52. Well what a surprise we got, but in a funny sort of way I enjoyed it the adrenalin was pumping and the nerves where kicking in, now that's what rugby is all about

Not sure about the best team loosing, think we were evenly matched and the score line fair. Keighley were very good they had the perfect game plan against us, they'll pull off a few big wins and cause one or two upsets at Cougar Park this year. Our trouble was that we dropped far too much ball, don't know if it was because we were trying to force things but you can't loose the ball so much against anyone. Still at least now we've played against a tactical attacking team instead of just teams that want to try to try to run through our huge pack and will learn a lot from it and be ready for the next challenge and the next team that plays like that.

Fair point, although I'd rather we didn't turn over so much possession against the likes of Featherstone, Sheffield or Halifax!

On LCTV Paul Rowley is not happy with the young linesman who disallowed a Leigh try whilst on the far opposite side. Rowley also thought it a very harsh call so all things considered I feel we just about edged it over the 80 mins.

Plenty food for thought though.

I bet he was plenty happy with the same touch judge who, in the second half was on the main stand side, and intervened to get Leigh the penalty, that led to Adam Higson's last gasp try! They reckon that decisions tend to even out and our coach has always said that you should take the officials out of the equation - in other words, ensure your destiny is in your own hands. I would have thought Sunday's victory could have been more emphatic, had we not constantly turned over the ball, to a team that made good use of the bonus possession.

Keighley's coach was disinclined to talk about the match officials - mind you, he is serving a four match ban for 'questioning the integrity of the match officials', in an earlier game!

Touch Judges don't and can't disallow tries, they can advise the ref who may or may not act on the advice. We don't have linesmen in RL.

Not a pop at you Harold but this is a pet hate of mine - using soccerball terminology when referring to RL.

We have penalties, not "free kicks" (a free kick in RL is the tap restart after a penalty kick to touch), we have touch judges, not "linesmen".

You even hear these things being broadcast over the radio, sometimes on TV and it bugs the hell out of me. Joe Wood on Leigh Life radio is a serial offender with his "free kicks". Kevin Ashcroft used to do it when he was guest commentator on Radio Manchester. I bet no rugby union commentator ever makes these mistakes.

Think I might start a campaign for the correct use of terminology in RL.

Actually, if you're shouting at the official it seems much easier and satisfying to yell "LINESMAN" than "TOUCH JUDGE", although I wouldn't of course know that from personal experience.
