Sorry yes Johny Pownall is a full back I was thinking of Briscoe who has also played centre but prefers full back (even though Pownall has also played centre).

You definately need 2/3 at least decent one's as we can tell you as can not only effect scores but team selection also... at least next year so far we only need one of Tyrer, Grady or Craven out their but the start of last season we had to make sure Grady was on the pitch in some capacity just for kicking and I think it knocked him in the end!

Paul can kick too & did a few times before the groin injury but you're right good goal kickers are vital & can make or break a game. I'll probably get shot down for saying this but I think Tim Hartley's small contribution of goal kicking at the start of the last season made me think he could of been our top kicker but Nanyn was & he did a awesome job. I think the kickers we have now will be ok but hopefully we'll get a decent signing thats a excellent goal kicker too.

I was a big fan of Martin Ainscough, believe Basil could bring him on leaps n bounds now Blackpool have gone, also see Adam Thomas was playing there and has Adam Rudd signed for Fax or not?

Pretty sure I read that an 'Adam thomas' had signed for Rochdale.

Neither Rudd, Thomas or Ainscough are good enough to play regular Championship Rugby unfortunately, all 3 are nice guys but its a business where sentiment doesn't come into it, we have better playing in our own reserves who may have to be cut.

All three showed promise, but it's still a big step to convert that promise to an acceptable level for Championship rugby, unfortunately.

Thomas is with Rochdale next season.
Ruddy is still with Halifax and I expect him to get some game time there next year along with Miles Greenwood.
Ainscough has played most of the season in the centres and fullback with Blackpool and could probably do a job in those positions but not at halfback where I believe we have better players.
