Why 29 games? Just play a round of games at the Magic and don't add the additional game into the season. I've never understood why they add the additional game anyways.

What do you mean 14 teams with 2 weeks off and 1 team gets a week off? You don't understand what Im saying, every round of games a certain team gets the round off, hence giving them 2 weeks to rest.

15 doesn't go into 28.

15 rounds everyone gets a "week off"

Then 13 rounds to go - 15 teams can't all have a week off (only 13)

Basically 1 team will not play every round

If you increase SL to 14 teams then IMO you just had more mediocrity to what has been a mediocre competition for a few seasons. What has been a real success has been the very competitive top half of the championship. I would go with the SL and SL2 idea with 10 teams in each. The immediate thought is that the SL chairmen/owners will be grumbling that there will not be enough games to generate the income they want, but they have been saying themselves that they want to improve the playing standards. Having the top ten teams would ensure a difficult game every week and by definition improve quality.
The second 10 will be made up of the 2 lowest finishing super league teams and the top 8 from the championship. The teams involved will be those who have real ambition to be in SL and they should all receive equal funding.
I would have the Magic weekend as a challenge cup weekend. The reduction in the number of games will provide time for international games or "War of the Roses" fixtures.
The prospect of high quality games in SL2 would provide an opportunity for TV/live streaming deals in its own right. It would also provide for a 2 up 2 down promotion without significantly harming the quality of the competition.

If theres 15 teams, then there is 14 teams that you play, 2 x 14 = 28 games.

If you have a bye, you get 2 weeks off not 1 like you previously said.

If you play a team on the 1st of August, then have bye on the 7th, your next game is on the 14th, which is 14 days off, which is 2 weeks.

Who are what is going to cover another two SL teams funding wise? Disbanding L1 will gain a £1m but that still leaves £2.5m short. Where's that coming from, Championship?

Round 1 - team A gets a week off
Round 2 - team B gets a week off

And so on

Round 14 - team N gets a week off

Round 15 - team O gets a week off

Round 1 to 15 all teams (A to O) have had 1 week off

(I am using the alphabet for the teams)

Right now onto

Round 16 - go back to the start - team A gets a week off

Round 17 - team B gets a week off

19 - D
20 - E
21 - F
22 - G
23 - H
24 - I
25 - J
26 - K
27 - l
28 last round - team M gets a week off. That's it end of comp with 15 teams.

But wait teams N and O have only had 1 rest week (rounds 14 & 15)

If you are the team without a fixture in the first week, you don't get any recuperation, you just start a week later than everyone else.

You maths is faulty anyway, if you play on the 1st and miss a week, your next game is on the 15th.

There won't be 14 teams in SL , unless they disband CH also . The next structure has to see SL1 and SL2 all running fulltime with 10 in each. That's the way forward.

Create whatever you want on that structure,because that's were it will end up. Hopefully sooner than later as 14 in SL will see more than just L1 being disbanded.

What ever system they introduce then so be it, we have to adapt, I don't think for 1 minute that there will be a 15 team S.L.

I was merely explaining to mooka that it would be impossible to give every team (2) weeks rest in a season with 28 games.

The powers that be will do what they do and we as fans will adapt.

Yorkshire cup / Lancashire cup, BBC floodlit trophy, Regal / JPS trophy, Lancashire v Yorkshire all gone.

Countless rule changes, licensing/ franchises, French clubs and now a North American club.

But yet we are still here week in week out.

You missed nothing, its just some think these ventures of SL with 14 in it will run on Scotch mist. CH along with L1 have 3 years to either go with whats being offered or go alone. Their choice. I don't take into account someones thoughts written in the RL weekly rag as gospel.

Others should do the same, the debate should be about 14 in SL, yet the debate turns into what format should be run in SL using 14 teams which the sport can't cater for without funding from the lower tiers being taken back.

Thats the point, not whether we should have a bye. No club will survive without funding, but if your happy to go with 14 in SL for 3 years, there won't be many clubs or fans adapting to that scenario below SL.

That is wrong, the season would not end on Week 28, it would finish in Week 30!!!!!!!

When you need a set of fixtures for 15 teams, you work them out for 16. Team 16 is the bye!!!!! A season is 30 weeks giving 28 games and 2 byes for each team

In our league there are 12 so minus summer bash and super 8's, we play 22 matches.

15 teams, they will play 14 at home and 14 away - 28 games

Not 30
