Yep Gaz looked fit and getting back to his best. Thought the red made two bad decisions with his cards. Don't think the red was a red but I'll wait till I see Fred's video and to bin two players for such a small fracas was daft. It was over before it began. I thought Sheffield would have given us a sterner test had they had a full team on the pitch but I still we would have beaten them.

Gaz looked like he was enjoying his Rugby today,and looked the part.

Two weeks in a row Gaz has been sin binned for NOT retaliating to punches!! Am I missing something???

Thought Hock had a cracking game on the whole and showed tremendous restraint not to react to getting a thump to the back of the head when his back was turned.

I've never been a Hock fan and thought his signing was a mistake, thought when he 1st got here he didn't do much but now something seems to have clicked with him. Was great at Whitehaven, did a lot of work at Bately and was outstanding today. Hopefully that'll carry on. RFL need to have a word with refs now though, 2 weeks in a row he's been sin binned for getting hit, teams are going to notice how easy it is to get him sin binned when he's done nothing wrong.

I have been a defender of referees more out of habit than anything else but I have got to admit that the ref & his so called assistants got the key calls wrong today. The red card killed the game as a contest as Sheffield are a team that like to play Rugby but were handicapped almost immediately. There certainly didn't seem much wrong from the North Stand view, there was no demanding of action from the crowd just the usual booing after the card and comments like, "what was that for". The Hock yellow was pathetic, purely based on reputation rather than action, I hope the panel have the balls to say 'yellow card unwarranted" rather than "yellow card sufficient". The late hit and the lack of reaction from the clown with the yellow flag should see him sacked.
A good family day out ruined, despite the result.

Don't think the red card could be complained about, happened in front of me. Was a spear tackle long after the ball had been dropped. So a spear tackle off the ball basically. Thought the ref started really well, put a stop to the rough stuff with the red and held the players back a good 10 m then seemed to loose all consistency and thus control of the game.

Fair enough on the red, you were nearer than me.

Fair play reffy, it's good to to see that you are not blinkered for the ref for a change.

Red card spoilt what could have been a very good contest. Or should I say [iCory Aston[/i spoilt the contest.

And let's not forget (just because we won well) the referee was terrible. He really was.

And I don't often criticise refs.

And the touch judges also ant..Few occasions when they could/should have intervened but stood there glaring into space.

Hock is showing what a damn good player he is.
I hope the club can mention to the ref's controller the incorrect sin binning of Gareth today as aside from it sending out so many wrong signals I think some clarification that Gareth is being treated on what he actually does on the pitch now and not what he did at previous clubs is required.

Championship is a good competition. It deserves better officials.

I didnt think the tackle deserved a red but i was the other side of the halfway just behind the visitor bench. I will jave to look at the video. I have a question though Reffy. In that passage of play leading upto this event. We knocked on. TG - i think it was - kicked the ball forward and Sheffield got the ball. In the meantime the bad tackle happened. I would have thought that the foul play would coceded the penalty but the ref went to a scrum to Shefield. Is that right. I thought serious foul play always took presidence over everything.

The ref got it correct, Sheffield were in possession when the ref spotted (or was told of) the foul play, if Leigh had been in possession it would have been a penalty to Leigh. I will add that if the rules have changed in the last few years then I may be wrong.

Fans from the West at the McNally incident are saying the TJ told the ref what had happened and he refused to act

My owd mon said he believed the TJ said something along the lines of 'He's got to go'.

The TJ should have stuck his flag up, he didn't, he bottled it. I have seen TJ reacting only after the crowd vents their anger which is poor.

Don't worry about Aston's red card, it was a spear tackle alright and, off the ball!
Its getting tedious now to see the tactics these thick Yorkshire Coaches are employing against us, roughening us up won't win you games against us! I detest Mark Aston he was a nuisance as a player and irritating as a Coach! Those in the North Stand will not have seen that nutter Tulapapa maurading around the Leigh dugout trying to pick a fight! he put his head to Jukes's head and 'chased' Jukes around the Dugout! I could not believe what I was watching! thank goodness Hock didn't get up and smack him although, something inside me was willing him to do it! Tulapapa is a crackpot!
This rough house stuff is just going on and on the RFL have got to put a stop to it!
From my seat in the west stand the 'hit' on McNally looked a straight red? it definitely would have been had Gareth Hock made the 'Hit' !!

It was Paul Anderson that Taulapapa was squaring up to, not Neil Jukes. It was also Taulapapa that smacked Hock on the back of the head.
