Brierley is rubbish, took him nearly 10 seconds today to score after coming on

He was classy again today though, bringing him on late against a tiring defence is a brilliant idea.

agreed nicholson was my m.o.m thought parker ran the ball in well today and brierley class act.

Thought Hopkins was our best player TBH

We hadn't made a 'clean break' till Nicho came on, awesome performance by him, and Ryan Brierley.....how can we keep him on the bench ?
I know we have Martin Ridyard, but if we had an average stand off, Ryan would have to start every game.
Full credit to Barrow, 1st half, they easily handled our predictable attack, had a decent kicking game, tried different things, and were unlucky to be losing at half time. BUT 1st 20 minutes of the 2nd half, we were awesome, and also a mention for Stu Littler, he really does run the ball in hard EVERY time, knows sometimes he's gonna get 'smashed' by a 3 man tackle but he really doesn't care.

Craig Briscoe. Workhorse. Infact, the pack is so dynamic and mobile but get generates some good go forward and strong defence.

I'd disagree budgie, twice in the 1 st half we bombed try scoring opportunities by dropping a ball as players were going through gaps, Duffs was one, cant remember who the other was, perhaps Tommy G no 1

Overal a good performance against what will be a strong Championship 1 team , they scored 2 trys on the back of Stevo's favorite tactic, the little chip over, other than that we kept them out comfortably

Bringing on the secret weapon with 30 minutes left continues to punish teams, although nobody expected it that quickly

I understand the impact of the "secret weapon" however, when he is putting in a cracking performance every game, does he not deserve a bit more than 30 mins? By the way thought nico really did well today, speeded up the ruck plays with some great short passing too! The move from the scrum with his drop off ball to littler was class! Was my mom today!

Ridyard and Duffy aren't doing much wrong to be dropped in place of Brierley though? I'm sure we'll see more of him as the season goes on, and if the situation requires it then I'd think he'll get more game time.

Surprised no-one has mentioned McNally - he looks a natural at full back, runs the ball back hard links up well, has pace and has the passing skills of a half back i.e. McGilverys try. Only 20 I believe, not sure why it's not worked out at SL level for him, but deffo our gain.

And a top word for Gallagher as well, put a lot of work in, thought he might of been a weak link but not after today.

Worrancy also put an excellent stint in and made good yards, could be picked on in defence by the better teams though

OK, we were poor 1st half because we kept dropping the ball, had quit a few penalties, got near their line, then 'messed it up'.
Was amazed we had scored 18 points, that was what I meant Starbug. Guess Barrow didn't [ibomb [/ias many chances as what we did.
Despite leading 18-10 at h/t, it was dire. 2nd half, we were superb.

Stick with bringing Brierley on when defences are tiring, he's only young and will get targeted early in the game.

Thought Maden had a great game also.

We bombed 2 dropped balls, were held up twice over the line, and still scored 3 trys, in cold conditions in our first real match of the season against a decent team, I thought we played well in the 1 st half, we were patient, we didn't take risks, we didn't gift them anything

Get us in better conditions and we will only get better

Looking forward to an interesting season

Think teams are going to be frightened to death of us having Worrincey, Brierley and Nicco coming on when they're getting tired.

MOM for me today was Rob Parker, although Nicco had a blinder too.

What concerns me about Worrincy is his defence.

Other teams coaches will spot that imo.

He does get caught flat footed. I think it is a concentration thing, he switches off sometimes. Awesome coming forward though. Stick Jimmy Taylor next to him and we'll be reet.

He did get caught out once today, but he wasn't the only one , so stop worrying, just enjoy

not many folk around me thought that. It was our 4th game, but 1st 25 minutes, yes, looked like our 1st game.

I'm over the moon that Nico has raised his game today and had a blinder. I thought he was poor against Wigan and it shows that the lad has it in him to respond to his coaches questions and get in there. Well done Ant. Another Leigh legend in the making.

Personally i'd have given it to Briscoe.
Tackled anything that moved and worked hard ball in hand.

Don't forget Worrincy is a good few weeks behind everyone else in terms of his pre-season preparations but I agree he did seem to switch off a couple of times. That said, he put in a couple of cracking hits as well.

Think back to last season , how many games went to the same pattern, ground them down 1 st half, opened up in the 2 nd

At least a couple of times the long ball out to Maden was on the cards, but with Nixon on that wing it isn't worth the risk, there was no need to try it

Our coaching staff had done their homework and had a game plan

May not have produced the rugby we saw in the friendlies in the 1st 20 mins but the play was all in there half .
