Lucky? We took our foot off the gas in the second half against Wakefield, simple as that. First 40 minutes we absolutely bossed it and you didn't stand a chance. Lets see at the end of the 8's where teams are eh? Good luck on Saturday, you'll need it.

Give over "Lucky"!
You started the game well and had all the momentum, we ground our way back into it and had the game won with just 5 or 6 minutes to go. A bad decision from Tupou prevented us sealing the game then an awful kick from Moore gifted you the win.
Stop listening to Phil Clarke's drivel!

| Quote: John Gilbert Reds "We could discuss it until we’re blue in the face, I am just giving you my opinion. Whilst I am sure other teams did have injuries and suspensions, I can be certain they weren’t quite as severe as ours and to key players. We played without both our first choice half backs for over 6 weeks, in which time we lost crucial games by small margins which had we won would have secured us a top 8 finish.
For me, Salford are the best team in the qualifiers. We have beaten Hull KR (with Albert Kelly) in recent weeks and hit the self-destruct button away at Widnes and ended up losing 21-20. As Bradford found out on Saturday, this Wakefield team is a much better one than the side which played the majority of the 23 rounds of Super League. They’re no mugs.'"
You are deluded. Your not the best team in these 8s at all. You only beat us at your place because Albert Kelly got injured at half time and should have never of played the second half. If we had both campo an Kelly playing against you we'd dick you. We'll beat you when you come to craven park without campo an Kelly.

| Well, this seems to have diverted everybody away from the "What are our (i.e. Leigh) chances of getting into SL" debate!! It seems to have developed into a Salford v Wakefield v Hull KR love-in!
And to think we've been accused by some, of being arrogant! (although in fairness, I reckon all three of them will probably finish above us )

| If you attended the meeting at the start of the season at LSV you might remember the target was to finish in the top 6 of the Middle 8's and aim for super league next season. Don't think much has changed from this target.

| A hard fought victory this Saturday and all will appear bright again. We've had a reality check, yes, but nothing catastrophic has happened ; we can do this!

| Totally agree Maurice beat the championship teams then its all on one game and who wants it the most.
This was always going to be tough because of the budget differences and the intensity week in week out that the super league teams experience.
I have been concerned with some of the performances our players have looked way off the pace except Higham & McNally , we also need to cut the silly penalties out this level penalties mean points, we are creating opportunities sooner or later they will click hopefully it is this weekend.
Id love to see Reynolds given the opportunity even if a bench role, he has pace and creativity something Riddy has lacked in the last two fixtures.

| I like Reynolds but for me now’s not the time for major tinkering, therefore Riddy plays and forwards on the bench. I would however give Pownall a crack at this one.

| Id certainly have Pownall back against the Championship sides, I do only think Higson is in there as he is physically stronger against Superleague Wingers.
Could Mickey Higham not do the full 80? To allow Reynolds on the bench,

| I think you guys are being harsh on yourselves. Did you honestly think that starting with 3 SL teams to play you'd definitely get a win somewhere?
If you beat us on Saturday, which is possible, you'll be cockahoop and all in the world will be well again. If you lose not much has changed. You have 3 championship clubs (who you've beaten already this year) and 1 SL team to play before the play off is decided.
The playoffs are set so that at least one, if not two Championship clubs makes the million pound game. You have just as much chance as before of being there. Also with 5 more rounds to go you could still make 2nd or 3rd.
A long way to go yet. I'm not taking you lightly for Saturday but would love to avenge that result from earlier in the year. I think our team is playing a lot better. However we lose some of the advantage from our new found confidence by now playing you at the LSV rather than BV.
If Wakey win I feel very confident that we'll not finish below 5th. If we lose I fear that we could be squeezed out. After another 2-3 rounds things will be a lot clearer.
A week is a long time in rugby league.
