As to not liking Charlie, I don't know the chap but he is obviously a very passionate fan , he is an impressive contributor to the forum and I get a lot of pleasure out of his posts however when I don't agree I will say so.

I think it's about time some people relies this is a rugby match we are going to not Sunday morning hymns I agree children should not have to listen to bad language that's why we have a family stand just wait till we are playing the hull teams they will make us look like saints..

Reffy , as you say we don't know each other , but you ARE entitled to your opinion ,and I fully respect that , I never expect anyone to agree with mine but it is how I see things that's all ,some folk find me irritating because im a bit of a wind up merchant , Im not trying to be anything but lighthearted as I think Rugby as with life is sometimes taken to seriously .As for being Passionate Mrs Caroli might disagree there but I am a Leigh fan no doubt .

Personally Im not keen on the insults and name calling on the Forum ,I don't lose any sleep over folk having a pop at me though , as I laugh at myself a lot .It used to be hard being a Leyther but this season it has been very easy , my message to ALL posters is always have an opinion ,and stick by it , I hope ive not included to many commas, and ive not mentioned Keighley fans , Marwan , or Salfordlad for a few posts now .

I have been to see the new Planet of the Apes film tonight , and can thoroughly recommend it , some of the scenes were like a Fev home game . .

I agree 100% this particular chant is not funny and I find it offensive, I don't think Lancastrians would like similar chants about Myra Hindley ,Dr Shipman etc.

I think the Cougar fans held their own but it could of turned nasty and will do one match when a few oppsition nut cases turn up.Their has always been odd bits of trouble and in the 70s more than odd bits anyone remember the mass brawls at the bus station when we played Wigan and we don't want to return to that.Rugby League has always had fans standing shoulder to shoulder and always had arguments and raised voices and thats fine but chants full of expletives deliberatly aimed at a few fans who paid a lot of money to visit the LSV is not on and I hope the club tries and do something about it.

Sadly there is very little we can realistically do about it, apart from urging our fans to use a little common sense when starting the chants.

The atmosphere generated on Saturday evening was as good as anything we've had this year at home and really lifted the lads.

We do look at the different topics on here and do try and action some of the decent suggestions that come up on here where it is both beneficial and financially viable.

Fair comment and the atmosphere was good but maybe the players or Paul could let it be known that they love the support but cool off on some of the chants, remember RL is a family sport and the great work the club is doing with kids underlines this.

I'm always proud to support Leigh but not felt as good for ages a lot due to great work being done behind the scenes.

We've tried to make our Social Media Outlets (Twitter, Facebook, Leythers, LeighLife) a lot more 'fan friendly' this year. Not just feeding you news but actually interacting with you all, getting your views and having a little fun too! I'm biased but we think its going really well. We are by far and away the most followed club on Twitter in the Championships, Facebook is a fantastic too! If everyone who is a 'fan' of the club on these two forums alone came to the match we'd have near enough 11k week in week out, which would be great!

We are always open to suggestions too!

The longer this behaviour is tolerated the longer it will go on and potentially deteriorate with bigger attendances.
Hoping it will go away clearly does not work.
More pro-active stewarding would seem to be an obvious option.
The use of hand held digital cameras can also be used to good effect.
It is clearly for the club and the LSV to decide the best way to proceed - there is a whole range of options that can be used to reinforce the stewarding actions.

Well, taking advantage of that offer, it would be fantastic if someone could sort out the PA system, for once and for all. It's fine when the music is being played, but once the announcer takes over to read out the teams, it goes to pieces. (at least in the West Stand) I'm sure our sponsors would welcome hearing their names read out in full, and not just fragments of them. (e.g. "Try -or th- --ntur---s score- by Bob -eswick, -pons---- by As- Pl--- -ffice -uppl--"icon_wink.gif

We think the problem is more the Microphones Alan and their proximity to the 'box' which transmits the signal.

We agree its a pain too and are looking into it. Sometimes its as simple as the batteries have gone, other times it seems the signal is being blocked.

Not a good answer, how about asking the LSV management to put a bomb under the stewards backsides and tell them that their job isn't to watch the game, chat to each other or bully easy targets but to actually do a bit of gobbin control.

Being sad doesn't address the problem.

We don't control the Stewards I'm afraid, which is why we say there is little we can realistically do about it.

We have regular meetings with LSV Management regarding lots of issues at the stadium including the Stewarding.

We will however continue to pass on your comments during these meetings.
