Morty has only gone for a month whilst there are no reserve team games planned.

I reckon Donlan might have a couple more seasons left in him yet

Ian will be back. At the moment Donlan is first choice and rightly so as he's been in great form so far this season. No harm in Morty going away on loan to play a few games at Haven, keep him on his toes and playing regular games at this level.

Someone made a good point about him playing his natural game and how recently his game has looked a bit restricted but if that's the coaches orders then what else can he do. I see him very much in the mould of Turley, a great support player and a great broken field runner with space in front of him, he just needs a bit of confidence in taking the line on because he has the speed and step on him to make a break. Safe as houses under a high ball and his defensive skills will come with time and experience.

I think it's safe to say, that Millward knows what he is doing with the lad. We should trust his judgement.

Back up for Donlon in my opinion.

Excellent goal kicker, but aggression when hitting the line and positioning are his main downfalls.

Teams scored plenty of tries against us last year with Ian behind the line waiting to greet them !!

Again though, proves what an astute coach Basil is. Ian will benefit from this greatly, and should come back stronger as a result.

Exactly what Stuart used to do, when he first started, but he was transformed into an excellent full back, under Millward. Let's hope that Basil can do the same for Mort, who definitely has talent.

Full backs can’t always just simply pick the ball up from an opposing kick and run hell for leather at the on coming traffic, if he immediately gets tackled, there could be none of his players back to play the ball too.

Good positioning, knowing when to run, when to take your time, need to be learned and Morty is still learning, and will hopefully gain from the experience of playing for Haven.

He needs to add a physical element to his game otherwise he'll never succeed in the Pro game.
