It can't Pro RL is in on it's last legs ive said it all along SL has ruined the game in this country a few teams have had all the dosh from Sky ect and the rest have struggled along on peanuts.. The greedy Self Centred Super League along with the total useless clowns who are suppose to run the game in this country have screwed everyone below SL and the game is now paying the price through mis management of the game no decent sponsor will put any decent dosh up for a game that's run like that

That was before Sale came in and halved the rent. 5,492 average this year, which was up 16% on 2011. Still far from ideal though.

| If they have a £750k shortfall, it may be more. Then at £12+vat a head, it may be less, thats 65000 fans and thats over 4500 per game short.

| Peel were going to match the 750k so thats £1.5 million. John Wilkinson mentioned a 'temporary cash flow problem' but to be honest nothing that has been said ie dates for announcements etc has come to pass. There is a winding up order due 1st week of January. Bleak is an understatement at the moment

| Peel Holdings will bail Salford out imo.
They would take a huge hit if they didn't.

| Because they own Barton Stadium.
Sale RUFC are not performing too well and their fans are not too fond of the place. Without Salford the stadium is a white elephant.

| Along with the council.
Why does it matter how well sale are playing?9000 reported on the other night and if reports are right then arent they paying 40k a game for the privilage of playing there?
Were salford paying 80k a game until sale moved in?

| Which i'd think can only be city or united.
You also have to remember this is a community stadium so it isn't, or shouldn't be, just for those that can pay large chunks of money out

That last sentence sounds oddly familiar!
It would have to be United reserves as City have invested quite a bit of cash in Hyde FC's ground as a reserve base while they await building another stadium near the Etihad.
Would also add that Sale would be up the creek if they got relegated. The jump in revenue is even worse than if a club got relegated from Super League.

When Sale first moved in, the media were reporting that Salford's rent was £750k per year and that Sale would now be paying half. Sounds excessive to me and makes me think what a good deal we have with LSV.
However, that is also why our SL application suddenly seemed more attractive - we wouldn't be reliant on gates of 10k, because our rental arrangements wouldn't be cripplng us.

| I also feel for the players at this time of year who may have taken out loans to pay for a car or holiday on the strength of a contract there. They will just be in a queue behind HMRC if it hits the fan.

| I understood our unique position was that the LSV cost nothing to build, in so far as it was built in return for land elsewhere, and as such we have a mutual benefit to locate and are NOW working much better together to find it.
beLEIGHve, Leigh will be in SL very soon.

| I hope to see Leigh in SL again in my lifetime .
At present, I don't think SL wants us though, even if we were ready.
