we "signed" both players last week. The local rag have drip-fed signings to try build some suspense!! However our forum was announcing some of the signings nearly a week before the club / paper released them!!!

Bolton by birth, Irish by blood, LEYTHER by heart and soul!!
30/04/06 "Some of W*gan's travelling fans headed towards the exit before it was even over.".................no change there then!![/quote:suio7kr3]
.....They are our people. Drummond, Costello, Manfredi, Svabic, Martyn, Street, Tickle, Patel, Mossop, Horo, Bristow, Leuleui, Varley, Fleary, Rivett, Tabern, Doran, Woods, Donlan, Wilshire, Leaefa, Hansen, Sale, Murphy… these are all my people. As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....[/quote:suio7kr3]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10303.jpg

It won't be its not official yet!! - We have already had issues with signings being announced before the club released it via players tweets, facebook etc. Nothing is "official" yet but both signings were completed last week. The club have only today "officially" announced Callum Casey's signing.

I am indifferent to this departure. There are others in last years squad we "need" to keep. Nanyn is replaceable.

I've always been 50-50 on him, but I think he was worth keeping for kicking if nothing else. He was lethal from 10 yards, but there are other players who are just as lethal. I'll decide whether good or bad business when 2012 end of season stats are in.

FAX Bag Nanyn
Thursday 20th October 2011

Story in brief:
Goalkicking centre arrives at the Shay Halifax Rugby League have made another big coup, capturing free scoring centre, Mick Nanyn on a 1 year deal, with an option for a second year. The goal kicking three quarter joins a strong line including the likes of Lee Paterson, Steve Tyrer, Paul White, Rob Worrincy and Wayne Reittie, and will also be facing a tough task in becoming the Club’s number one kicker.

Halifax now have Nanyn, Tyrer, Handforth, and Paterson, all four appearing in the top 5 Championship Goalkickers in recent seasons. Karl Harrison will be spoilt for choice once pre season begins, having an abundance of reliable marksmen. Mick becomes the 24th player to sign on for 2012, and at 29 years of age, automatically becomes one of the Club’s most experienced members.

“As soon as Mick became available we wanted to look at him and see if a deal could be done. He had interest from quite a few clubs but he sees what we’re building here and is keen to remain at the top of the table. He’s been involved in some very good sides and always put points on the board. We should be a tremendous threat for us going into the new season.” Said Ian Croad, Club Director.

Halifax now enter 2012 with the potential of pairing Steve Tyrer and Mick Nanyn with Paul White and Rob Worrincy, the four of them registering nearly 100 tries between them in 2011. FAX now have 2 of the top three point scorers of 2011, and 3 of the top 5 try scorers, hinting that the Club be in for an exciting few seasons.

“As a team we’ve always scored tries and there should be no reason that doesn’t continue. Karl’s main aim was to bring balance and I think everyone’s very excited about what he’s built. There’s still a few weeks until players return to training, but signs are good for a very strong off-season.

Does the signing of Nanyn excite you? If so make sure you sign up to a 2012 season ticket and become part of Rhinos Army in 2012.

SWINTON must have some team now tomkins and Lockyear have signed icon_iamwithstupid.gif
