Quote: Mr Northstander "Its not looking good for Salford just been listening about their problems on Radio Manchester GMR. Not sure what will happen but no matter it is another sad day for this great game.

I just wish the idiots who are running the game at RLF HQ will get their heads from up their fat backsides and let common sense prevail.

Good luck Salford hope you can sort yourselves out.'"

The clubs have to shoulder a huge amount of responsibility as well as the RFL. We've been as guilty as everyone else and are still learning from the experience. Really don't know what the solution is as there just seems to be so much going wrong in RL in recent times.

I suspect things will unravel very quickly at Salford now. Sad but with a winding up hearing due 1st week of Jan they will surely seek to protect what's left with administration. Now what will SL do? Its not the middle of the season so no real problem with fixtures if The Reds dropped out but where do they go.

They might chuck barra out of this league cos there lights are crap and put salford in here.
Just joking....If this particular salford club does disappear and a new one is reborn,it will have to be in champ 1,although that would depend on salford council allowing them to play for nothing at the new stadium.

Well hindsight is a wonderffull thing.

I feel sorry for their fans and moving to Barton was always daft.

It is and always was a very badly planned facility.

Public transport links are not good and although I live 5 minutes walk from Salford Central Station I can get to the LSV quicker than to Barton.

They should have stayed at the Weaste.

Lets hope they survive and go back there.

He said The Weaste, which I believe does still exist. Don't think the vault is big enough for a rugby ground though icon_lol.gif

Was costing them more to keep the Willows going than it does to rent the new ground. The club have tried there best with buses from the Willows and Irlam Station etc but otherwise the stadium is poor. Lets hope it is all sorted as best as possible.

They need crowds of 8000 a match to make Barton viable. Never going to happen.

Drove past it yesterday and only the surrounding wall is still there. They have made the main sports news today on five live. Looks like the Stars piece has left a few councilors with egg ont face because the councill has withdrawn from any bail out because of assurances not being made. This is crap for RL and Salford. Said ont news that they may go as early as tonight.

I feel sorry for the fans of Salford, but if they want it they can rise again.
It isn't crap for RL if it exposes the farce it has become, rids itself of the clueless leaders and seizes the fantastic opportunities it has in front of it.
Anyway the RFL will buy/lease the Iconic CoS stadium pay the wages for a few months and grant a probationary licence for 2013/14

Another timely warning to us that we need to ensure that as a club we continue to grow and get the right things in place.

Build on the 1,200 fans we can guarentee week in week out and move forward at a realistic pace.

Disagree Jenky.

Its all about generating income streams to sustain realistic ambition and having external funds in place to cover any shortfalls which must not be via PG's or DL's.

I agree about individual clubs generating their own income but how does the sport as a whole bring in major sponsors with this type of thing happening and a poor international team?
