According to todays League Express the Home club are calling for an RFL enquiry and the reporter(John Nolan) reports that we had 14 man on, saying that Duffy appeared to join in befor \Mc Connell had left the field, and befroe being given permission by the fourth offical, Duffy was involved in a tackle which then there was a forced error and a scrum and Leigh scored.
It goes on to say that, After the try the ref alerted by the Haven bench by the match commissioner sent off Duffy for entering the field before being told to do so. However bizzarrely he undid the substituion and let Mc Connell to re enter play. leaving Leigh with 13 men.
So the mind boggles, did we have 14 or not????

Dave has done a report for the Bolton Evening News - I've read it. Often, the 'home' reporters cover the game for the 'trade press'. There were never 14 men on the pitch. Check the Haven (and Leigh) substitutions - I wouldn't mind betting that there were technically 14 men on the pitch, for some of them! I think it is being blown up out of all proportion because Duffy was involved in the try. It all boils down to whether the card was handed to the 4th official correctly. If it wasn't, then he should have gone on the pitch immediately and told the ref, not allowed himself to be pressurised by Ged Stokes and his colleagues for the best part of five minutes and finally get the MC involved.

I was told Fev had 14 on the field on Tues, But Leigh aren't complaining.

Seems like Haven have twitchy bum syndrome, with being so close to the place there fans sang about with glee about us being in last game of last season.

Was Duffy actually shown a red card, that is actually sent off? Because if that is the case the argument is then about whether Leigh should have played the remainder of the game with twelve players.

Sounds like the ref and his assistants could have also done with taking on some more water. Sounds like a complete hash up.

Ref gave permission to McConnell to come back on, while none of us seem to understand this fully, the ref sanctioned Leigh having thirteen men on, so an appeal on those grounds should not even be heard. The business of fourteen men also seems to have been cleared up from the DVD, see Freds post above which goes into a great deal of detail as to what happened.

Talking about Mr Stokes grasping at straws,and if he thinks his team played better than of recent then he should know that Leigh played below par yesterday so what does that tell him.
