Big fan of Alstead but he could have cost us game.

Big well done to the lads for turning the game back round when Sheff was starting to get on top.

Shame about the crowd, thought there was over 2000 on myself.

could not be happier with the team - to deny sheffield a bonus point (which noone did last year) with 12 v 14 is suberb. And the nanyn song is world class

After the Wi@an game, it is very obvious that Sheffield can score tries.
24-20, 12 men for and extended period of time, lots of time to go, and Sheff on the up, did anyone honestly think we would win, never mind scratch the bonus point.

I cannot wait to see this one. Once again it seems like these lads are the team we have hoped and prayed for, for several years. No matter what curve balls are thrown their way, they not only give it their all, they then find a way to go the extra mile.

I would ask every Leyther on this board to keep going the extra mile in an attempt to get as many bodies through the gates each week.

was a bad high shot and he deserved to be sent off, big fan of alsteads myself and am certain he didnt mean to but it i cant see how any one can argue he didnt deserve to go. Full credit to lads though on a hard fought win

I think it was a red card 100%, and if it was a leigh player you would be calling for a red card aswell. Funny how peoples opions change when the shoes is on the other foot. But far game, you deserved to win today, our Lads are just coming up short right now, and im sure a win is just round the corner.

leigh played well today,but i feel i must mention the half time entertainment does anyone think there is a place in the leigh team for whally and tommy with such catchin ability (not)

Your right to say that if it had happened to a Leigh player that most of us would have been calling for a red card. But we have called for similar tackles before and nothing had been done. I will have no problems with todays red card if all similar tackles are punished the same for the rest of the season. What annoyed me was that the punishment was not consistant with that for similar tackles that have occured this season.

Great performance and result..but I don't know why they bother. The people of Leigh should hang their heads in shame and AT should find somewhere to spend his money where the people appreciate it.

It was a red card for me. Like Nozzy said, it'd be good if the consistency was there but from what it looked like, Alstead clearly hit square in the face an dI dont think it helped with him rushing into the tackle aswell, making it happen at such as fast pace.

The lads dug very deep and ground out an excellent win. Fantastic effort considering we had 12 men for about 50 minutes.

Thought the lads played very well,showed great team work and commitment

I think the crowd baying at the ref was misplaced,what crimes did he infact commit?

If people sit and enjoy the game instead of screaming like banshees at tackles the opposition do they would properly go home without a banging head



On the marketing front ,what exactly did we do? as I missed it?

At the moment it is very very expensive for a family of 4 to attend on a spur of the moment thing,and thats the area we need to pay attenion too really.

Well after a fairly sluggish start we got to grips and scored to equalise inside twenty minutes. Alstead IMO deserved the red card and I feared the worst. This Eagles side can score points and have proved that today. The ref's decisions at times were bizarre to say the least but calling him a banker made things worse for us with the consecutive penalties awarded to the Eagles. When in the second half we conceded tries to bring the score to 24-20 I thought it was lost. 12 men against an Eagles side that can score points is a big ask of our team. However, our true mettle came through and we deservedly got a win in what can only be described as a game that we had to dig deep to record a win against the odds!

Is 1878 the official attendance?

Looked to me that it was a bit better than that, although anything less than 2500 with the performances this team are giving is dissapointing.

I would guess that at about 50 Sheffield supporters which has probably been about the average away support at the LSV in the league this season.

Good summary by Plonk and a few of the ref's decisions looked odd but he was nearer to the play than me.

What I did not like however was the leniency he allowed at the play the ball.

Sheffield looked good out wide and had some fast backs so our win was all the more creditable imo with us having to move our stand off to the wing for 50 minutes.

All in all our lads want to win and it showed. The fans got behind the side which was good to hear and re the crowd I thought it was a lot more than our last game at the LSV but reported to be a lot lower which surprised me and infact a mate said to me they got the first digit wrong. Ah well.

The HT entertainment was great too. Glad they don't play for us.
