I am of an age when I find obscene chanting at opposition fans to be the most childish aspect of the game yet while Leigh supporters take great delight in labelling others fans, 'scum' & 'worst fans in the league', they have no problem when Leigh fans are the offenders.

"What do you expect", what a crass statement that is, when RL takes pride in being the game were fans don't need to be segregated, Leigh's token dinosaur come up trumps.

I have to agree with Reffy. We are trying to promote a family club and aggressive behaviour between fans is not on I front of kids. Banter yes. Bullying foul mouth rubbish no.

Cant comment on the North Stand, but I'm with Charlie on this one - a couple of middle aged Keighley fans were asking for trouble with the Barlow goading. No idea what that was about, but very much doubt they would have said it to his face

Plenty of swearing from the polite fans in the West Stand too - every time Leigh dropped the ball. And that happened rather a lot!

Col,the said middle aged Keighley fans started having a go at Barlow from the kick-off , at one point they blamed Barlow for a high tackle when it was Acton who made it , thay were obsessed with Barlow , and how much money we had spent on our team , anyone in the West Stand at the North end would have heard them .Mrs Caroli who was attending her first game of the season , said they were asking for trouble , luckily the Stewards sorted it out .

the Keighley fans in the West Stand were the culprits , myself I don't swear , I don't find a need to , nor am I one for losing my temper , but I do say what I see , and will never be provoked or bullied by anyone , it was Rachs holier than thou attitude that prompted my response , I normally take a light hearted outlook on everything .

They certainly did in what could otherwise of been a very flat atmosphere. All their fans appeared to enjoy themselves. My comment was very much tongue in cheek.

Charlie, if you want to see holier than thou attitudes then read back some of the regulars' comment after away matches.
Every team has its share of foul mouthed gobbins but every team also has a few wise monkeys who won't admit it.

They did swear in that chant I can assure you but look im not making a big deal of it. It was all pretty much light hearted banter and generally a very good atmosphere. Thats how I interpreted it but you are quite correct in my hearing not quite being as good as it once was.

Reffy , I realise all clubs has its share of folk that chant things that are not needed , ive been watching Leigh for many years now and it was the same in those early days stood on the Railway End .For me the 2 worst places for foul chants and intimidation are Haven and Fev ,last night was down to 4 Keighley fans in the West Stand , the Leigh fans involved were just telling them to turn it down a bit .

Sure I heard the IRA been mentioned in a Leigh song? I may have been wrong?
