Warren Turley was so obviously trying not to prove he was a Leyther that he lost the plot completely! I don't think Sheffield were more than 6 yrdss from us during the whole game. What offside, sir?

Made me laugh when Penky pointed out on one of the tap penalties, that he was two yards over the line yet Warren had only taken them back to the next line.

Also think sheff had 7 tackles twice in the game.

That said, I didn't think he had a bad game overall,

Great performance first half - neither the players nor the coaching staff need advising on how to close out games when in a dominating position.
We just need to do it.

What is so positive is that, when threatened, we seem to be able to step up a gear and take the game away from the opposition. Sheffield didn't know what had hit them when they got within two points.
The most pleasing aspect of all is that we are 18 and 0 yet there is further improvement still available to tap - in the context of a full game. Unlike previous seasons when we have tended to tail off as the play offs approach - this time we have the potential to get even better and this season it is from a position of total domination of the league table.

And that is all that matters this season, top two and the funding that goes with it - play offs are for fun without the pressure but I am sure they will want to win that as well

We definitely missed Riddy and the calming influence that he can provide sometimes - the closer the game got, the more panic rugby we tried to play. On other days those passes may stick, but we certainly got the bounce of the ball in other areas so we can't push our luck too much, especially with how many times we've been run close over the season.

The main thing that matters is 18 from 18, but this habit of playing with fire really needs to sorted out for next week.

once again we are comfortably in front and then turn into Leigh Harlem globe trotters ,all those silly passes, disagree with Man of the match ,should have been Kay or Acton or Barlow. also Turley was rubbish never onside once Sheffield all afternoon.

2nd half was a poor display by Leigh and a better team would have beaten us for sure, we cannot keep disrespecting possession but I'm one that prefers RL being played by attack rather than 5 drives and a kick so I'll take the odd close game for entertainment value.
Riddy not playing means we are a different team.
The value of having a decent squad has been shown over the last few weeks when injuries have really taken a toll but the fact we are still unbeaten in the league is testament to the team spirit and will power.
Can and must do a lot better other wise the winning run will end but I'll have taken the odd poor 40 minutes here and there to be where we are if you'd have offered it me at the start of the season!

Well I thought after poor completion rates and woeful handling the last couple of weeks our first loss would happen against Sheffield. They got it back to 2 behind and we were playing poorly so I thought that was it. However never gamble against team spirit or Sam Barlow when he has his RL head on.

We may well look back on that as a crucial victory. Sheffield are surely in a false position, because of their woeful home form. (only two home games won so far) We may not have been 100%, we may not have fully respected possession, but we still won - and without Riddy and Ollie - surely two key players. Also, we all said we wanted exciting rugby, so it may be a bit churlish to criticise the lads, when they attempt the impossible.

There may be room for improvement - it sounds like the coaches and players believe this, but 18 from 18 isn't too bad, eh?

In a funny sort of way I have enjoyed these type of games than the games we were winning by 40 or 50 points. I found myself switching off and talking to people in the crowd. But not any more, I can't breath sometimes and I certainly can't take my eyes of the game.

You are quite correct Roller some people were saying it was boring watching us win games by 50 odd points, I wouldn't care less if we won every game by 1 point winning is everything this year and next.

If we win on Sunday and its a big if , I think there is a very very good chance we will stay unbeaten all season(well until the playoffs )

Sundays game against Doncaster is going to be a cracker, we cannot afford to be off our game. Cooke's team are looking for second place and will do all they need to do for the win, it's up to Leigh to win this game by playing hard in forwards and fast in the backs and I'm sure we will blow Doncaster away.

We could well be at full strength for Sunday and Leythers who go to away games shout louder than they do at the LSV. Our lads appreciate that.

Dons are a decent Championship side and I think we will take a good following.
