| Well said Gary Schofield at the end of that feature on Leigh. What he said regarding the players taking responsibility for their performances so far, and how it is affecting both Derek and the Leigh fans is spot on. The players have to take full responsibility for the results so far and prove that they are worthy of, not just of their reputations as NRL and SL players, but worthy to wear the Leigh shirt and realise how important this Club is to the whole town.

| Quote: Alan "Hi Atomic.
I think, somewhere in that interview, he mentioned some unexpected expenditure relating to our season in SL, necessitating his contribution? Not sure what that was, but could it involve pending court cases/settlements with players who maintained their contracts were still valid, on relegation? (i.e. into the Championship)'"
Hi Alan.
Yes thanks for that,I did miss that, or don't recall it. Not quite sure what the additional expenditure was.
The RFL ruling is quite clear on relegation, as contracts do become null and void. Possibly some up and coming junior barrister found a typo in the script.

There is a story (unsubstantiated, as far as I'm aware) that certain players' contracts contained a clause about playing in the Championship, on relegation, as well as a clause relating to continuing in SL. Therefore, the SL part of the contract would be null and void, but the clause about playing in the Championship..................? Like I say, I'm in no position to verify that story, though.

That would probably tie in with new contracts being offered at reduced rates, as you say hearsay.

| Has anyone actually seen an advertisement for Head Coach at Leigh since this whole debacle began, because I am sure there are coaches out there who would relish the job, or is he indicating we can't afford a top coach, or he won't employ a top coach because a top coach wouldn't put up with DBs ego?
If we are not getting a coach now then it is obvious that you tell KC to roll his sleeves up and do the job with KP as his assistant. And you tell the players to roll their sleeves up, play with pride for the club and to get the Batley game won. Sounds like he's still blaming the fans after the Toulouse game and laying the foundations to leave at the end of the season or before.
This is a total mess.

| Quote: WHERESYERBALL "anyone who sat in the supporters stand at Hilton Park listening to Tommy Sale talk when the Blackpool Mafia were very close to destroying the club will know it will always live on!!'"
I was on the dole at the time with 2 small kids to bring up. I sent money I couldn't afford and a letter to the club telling them to start a fund to save the club. I then wrote to SKY. Stevo read the letter on air asking fans of all clubs to help save Leigh. 50 grand was raised by the rugby league family and Leigh was saved. Wish I or other passionate Leythers could win the lottery because the club wouldn't be loaned money, it would be given. I'm quite sure Leigh will survive without DB whatever the future holds. Passionate leythers may vent their anger when players aren't playing with pride but they are always there when the going gets tough. They never, never walk away DB. COME ON LEIGH!!!
