Quote: Greg Florimos Boots "I think Sheffield were just about full time this season so its really a bit of not news. Fax will be part time again next year but given the team we have and the addition of about 4 or 5 quality players Im hoping we can bridge the small gap that has opened up between the top 2. When you take in to account Sheffield and london been just about full time it just shows what a job Fax have done to get at least 4th.
The only problem I can see in the Championship is a gap opening up below 4th. You cant really see Fax or Sheffield been any worse next season and with less funding its difficult to see teams like london and Fev bridge that gap.'"
I was under the impression Sheffield had essentially a full time 13 but a part time squad, still a big advantage over the part time teams but good that they've now gone all full time. Seen that Fax have decided to spend the money on a reserves team instead, good & noble idea & I hope it pays off but a bit of a gamble, Fev spent it on the ground last year and the gamble didn't pay off.
Fax & Sheff have done really well and no doubt will be better next year. London got off to a poor start but improved towards the end, if they can stay full time I think they'll do better next year. Dewsbury seem to have been steadily growing and getting better every year. Fev, we'll have to see how missing out on the top 4 affects them but they're still a good team, have to see how a settled coach does for them. So I don't think there will be much of a gap opening up below 4th, the biggest gap will still be where it is now below 7th.
