I think you are kind of missing my point!
We always seem to have had a club who we've 'had the indian sign over'....one team that, however bad the season was going, we could virtually guarantee a win! For quite a few seasons that team was Hull KR. Then in recent years, since HKR were promoted, it's been Widnes. We now find ourselves looking for a new 'bitch', and as we have now had 'back to back' (albeit 9 months, and two separate seasons!) wins over Halifax, the opportunity of a 'hat-trick' of favourable results then starts to look like a 'streak'!!
Remember - before the run of consecutive victories over Widnes, they had won the previous match!! (previous 3 or 4 matches if memory serves!!)....but you've got to start a streak with a win (unless it's a losing streak!), so 2 in a row, with the chance to play them again so soon, has the makings of a potential winning streak! It may be that there are other clubs who we beat more regularly, and haven't lost against in years (one for our Stattos there!), but it feels a lot sweeter when it's one of the clubs you expect to be 'in the mix' when the trophies are being handed out!!
And, as Michael pointed out, the result at the LSV last year came at a very dark time for the club. Had those announcements not come at the time they had, I can't see Halifax having come anywhere near putting 30+ points on us....no one else had laid a glove on us by that stage of the season!!!
