Credit on this goes mainly to Maple Leyther. It was his idea as far as I'm aware and he did all the leg work (well email work etc) with the club/lottery folks. We know as a single gesture this will not save the farm but I hope that it can encourage others to do something positive, and the sum total can help keep the Leigh Rugby we all love thriving.
As soon as I'm back off my hols on Saturday night, I'll also be putting a £60 cheque in the post for an up front years worth of LISA membership. No demands of answers to questions or vailed suggestions that money will be misused. My club needs help NOW and this is what I can do.
I would also like to offer my sincere thanks to EVERYONE who has pledged their own personal time and effort to help our club. To me this kind of gesture is worth it's weight in gold. If we only had a gram of gold for every minute Lynda is putting in we'd be the richest club in the land.
Together we can do it
