Quote: Ace Ventura "Batley 40 34 Widnes. Seems like the "back to form" didnt last long!
Webster is a waste of money did absolutely nothing , Penny touched the ball about 3 times and at over £2k a game is hilarious .. Nice to see Paul Cullen lock his players in the Batley dressing room and not let them out to get any food after the game , also Steve O'Connor's speech was very interesting , he is far from happy with Cullens team and i wouldnt be surprised if he had the firing squad ready
I feel that we see more rugby in the championship though.... There is an over-reliance in this country of quick play the balls and trying to power downfield.
Plenty of good rugby still played during the winter months at Leigh East and Leigh Miners.
The emphasis has changed but I enjoy any rugby league and there is too much made on the supposed halcyon days gone by.
Keith made a good point in that players seem to be having skill coached out of them or at least all taught to the same rulebook. I don't feel there are too many players who seem to want to play off the cuff rugby... I maybe wrong but it would seem everything is down to gameplans and predefined ideas, now there are plus points to that but i the plan isn't working can it be changed?
And Keith is right but the object of our game is to cross the goal line with ball and put it down before you cross the deadball line. Quick play of the ball makes the game faster and therefore more entertaining.
you work with someone from/at south sydney, until the last few seasons they finished bottom a number of seasons in a row, the quality of rugby could not of been that high there.
