He looks like a great prospect and has made his first team debut. Hands off

I travelled to Hull early so that I could attend the Academy game as well as the 1st Team game too.
Taylor-Wray plays like that regularly and is definitely a star of the future.
There isn`t currently a first team path for him at Wire, with Dufty playing fullback and Thewlis waiting to play there and playing on the wing at the moment.
If Thewlis settles for being a wing player, (Like Ashton has) Taylor-Wray could replace Dufty but he needs regular 1st team football soon so that he develops, because Academy games seem too easy for him and when he plays in our Reserves, the majority of players for both teams are just Academy players too.
A season long loan to a decent Championship club for next season would help him and extend him out of his current comfort zone,

| I have not seen enough of him but perhaps others have. Can Taylor-Wray possibly play in another position?

| Maybe introduce him to the first team on the wing in due course with Thewlis at fullback and Ashton on the other wing. Adding Lindop and Wrench (subject to sorting out fitness and defensive issues) at centre would give us a ridiculously quick back line.

| Chambers sees Taylor-Wray as eventually taking over from Dufty. Duftys current deal is up in 2026 at which point Taylor-Wray will be 19 or 20 I think and Dufty 30.
They will also want to ensure he isn’t overplayed too young.
Thewlis I think is being seen as a winger now.

This makes sense, plenty of time for development. Thewlis as been on the wing for a good chunk of time now and even if his preferred position is fullback, the timing for the young lad works out well in the scenario.

| If Taylor-Wray is that good they will find that 2 years is too long. This long term planning probably won't work as some-one will pop in & give him a lucrative contract.

I don’t think he will be a starting full back anywhere else before 2026, he’d only be 19 at that stage. Have to be careful he’s physically ready for SL - as a small back, it’s an issue to consider.
I’m not sure on the rules. Is it right he can only sign a full time professional contract on his 18th birthday? Not sure when that is.

| It didn`t do Welsby any harm, playing as a teenager for Saints and he scored a last minute try for them in a Grand Final in a game that they would probably have lost if he hadn`t played.
With the agents offering their players around to all and sundry, I agree with Smithy that a player with the natural talent and speed that Taylor-Wray has, he could be snapped-up by another Super League club or possibly a NRL club.
He needs to be offered a pathway to a 1st Team jersey, and signed on a 4 year minimum contract ASAP.

Pretty sure he will be signed up, not sure what the situation is regards his contract? Welsby wasn’t first choice starting full back at 19, but was getting game time, which Taylor-Wray can also get. He’s been told he’s the future at Warrington and he can see with Lindop, Holroyd and Hayes getting opportunities that he won’t be left kicking his heels.

saints had him as regular 4th sub on the bench for most of that season, he could fill in any of the backs and cover 9 and 13 to a push, i seem to recall him covering centre and wing mainly. Cos he's a big FB he could accomodate the other positions.
BUT
he was a fixture on the behcn regardless of play, though one might argue with their team and style of play they could afford to have a wildcard sub.
they did the same with dodd when welsby progressed to starting line up

It is so useful to be able to play in various positions. So can Taylor-Wray fill in elsewhere?
