| Hi
Southern based Rhinos fan here. Bringing my wife up for the Leeds game as part of a few days away in Chester and need advice
1. Best way to get there from Chester.
2. How early to avoid major traffic and what's it like getting out after game?
3. Planning on parking maybe 15 mins walk out. Best not to wear any Rhinos gear (I've heard of the odd idiots hassling fans/coaches)

| I’d check out train times depending on where you stay in Chester. I usually park in Golden Square. Around 10 minutes walk and no difficulty getting away. Hope you enjoy the game (but not the result!).

I didn't consider train. Will it get packed or is it reasonably ok?
How far from centre of Chester and Halwell Jones are the train stations to walk you reckon ?

Hello Don,
Are you dead set on driving? The train from Chester is half an hour admittedly it's to and from Bank Quay which is further than Central Station to the ground but not unwalkable or could be plotted with a slightly longer route through town involving a pit stop or two (another advantage of not driving).
I'm sure you'll get better advice from those that travel in that direction.
Sorry can't help on best parking from that side I travel in from Manchester so the opposite direction but never have a problem with Traffic I suppose it's because you get to know what works but I've sometimes struggled with Headingley but that's mainly due to skirting Leeds city centre following the potential M62 traumas
Regarding your Rhinos gear I know we have our 'share'; but I'd have thought you'd be OK.
Enjoy your evening hopefully an entertaining loss for the Loiners

That's great mate thanks. Had a look and think the train looks good. Maybe we can eat in Warrington before and have a few ales as you say.

Monitoring outside for the people inside: |
|
| If it was an afternoon game, I would definitely go for the train option. They run from Chester to Warrington Bank Quay which is a 15 minute, no hanging around walk from the stadium.. The match will finish around 21.45 and there is a train back to Chester at 22.17 so you would be advised to get away sharpish. After that, the last train of the day is at 23.23.
It is quite easy to park the car and get away from games especially in the direction you will be travelling. Best to park on the main shopping centre, Golden Square which is free in the evenings, very secure, well lit and will have plenty of other supporters on there, me included. Access to the lower one, which is the better, is off Legh St and has easy pedestrian access. The upper one is up the spiral ramp off Midland Way and at 10pm, on foot you have to take a convaluted way through the shopping centre which has limited access at that time.
Contrary to popular belief, Warrington has some great eating and drinking places. Let us know which option you are taking and we can give you better details. Don't be concerned about wearing your colours, you would be extremely unlucky to run into any nutters.

And if you do the chances of them realising the difference between your colours and ours are slim…but they may recognise your foreign accent!

| I walk back to golden square car park after every home game, often with fans wearing Saints, Wigan, Hull colours and never seen any bother. Obviously if you start gobbing off especially after a Wire loss you would be asking for trouble. Same as applies at every town and city.

| Thanks to everyone on this.
Had a great night though the result was rubbish
We went by train in the end...missed the 10.20 and had an hour wait....so walked back towards town and found a Tiki bar ....had some nice cocktails which was good. Wore out Leeds shirts and no bother!
In fact it was in Chester we got some good natured grief from Wire fans there !
Will visit HJ again hoping for a better result

| Good to hear that you enjoyed your visit. We normally only get posts about the negative, so many thanks for your honesty despite the result.
