| A shame in my opinion, but good luck to him. The academy graduates have slotted straight in the last couple of seasons, a noticeable difference. Hopefully we can find a replacement who can continue the improvements made under Anderson.

| Good luck to him, I liked having him at Warrington.
Still think its strange he hasn't been given another shot as a head coach. I wonder if he will go down as another Jon Pendlebury - an upcoming coach who had been successful then had one bad half-season and was sacked and forgotten about. He improved Huddersfield from where they had been under TS, Jon Sharp and Nathan Brown, and they have never been as good since.

It might be that he doesn't want to do that. Anderson never struck me as the head coach type really. His role at Warrington has always been a weird one for me. Head of youth development, but he never went to watch any of the youth games in the town, which always struck me as being odd as he could watch what his younger players are like in actual games. He seems to have a good reputation for his work with the academy players, but it sounds to me like his new role will suit him. Developing the elite level players for the England setup seems an ideal job for him. It might also benefit Warrington if they can get someone a bit more hands on in the role.

Anderson wasn't Head of Youth - Pete Riding is, Anderson's role was Academy Head Coach - I assume he watched his Academy team play?

Yeah, but they don't play games until they are mid way through being 16. So they're there with them for a year before he sees them play. Had he watched them he could have an eye on what development areas they need to focus on and things they need to stop doing. Just seems odd that the whole setup don't watch the junior games. I'm sure they are sent pitch side camcorder videos at times, but you can't tell much from those.

Not sure that you are aware of this? Tyke will be the lead Scholarship coach.

| Maybe Anderson couldn’t move over permanently due to family reasons. If that’s the case, I can understand why he didn’t spend more time in the town than he maybe would have done otherwise. I crossed the pennies on the M62 twice today and it wasn’t pleasant in the crappy weather, even though it wasn’t busy like it usually is.

Anderson did commute from his home in Yorkshire daily. He shared the driving duties with Pete Riding who still lives in the Castleford area.

Cheers. One of them (or maybe it was both of them) certainly seems to have made a positive impact on the production line at Warrington.

I think Anderson was the biggest influence on the quality of the likes of Thewlis, Wrench and Mongstaff when they broke into the first team.
That is Steve Anderson not Paul though.

We'd have been better off with Gerry than 'you know who'!! I must admit that I didn't know who actually does or did what at each level in detail but my impression was that Anderson P seemed like a good guy to have on the team but was over qualified if that doesn't sound dismissive of the role and recognizing that a healthy production line is an important driver to sustainable success.
Good luck to Anderson and to McCarthy who on the face of it seems like a good fit BTW Belated Season's Greetings to all
