BBC 2 7 pm. He was the one guy I always looked for on the Leeds team sheet, it was always a big relief if he was not playing, probably one of the most elusive players in the game.

I agree, he certainly put the wind up me particularly with ball in hand, close game and under the floodlights......

puts everything into perspective. Terribly sad to see Rob succumbing to the awful disease....but very inspirational to see him battling it with a smile. Won't be a dry eye in the house watching this tonight.

I remember when I heard Paul Darbyshire got diagnosed and sadly died from it. Such a horrible disease.

When I posted this this morning it said tonight at 7 on BBC 2 so I set it to record, but now it’s gone off the planner and it now says the One Show??

The first time I heard of the disease was when David Niven had it back in the 1980s It seemed to be incredibly rare in those days but in recent years it appears to be far more common, especially amongst sporting stars. If it turns out that theres a definate link between high impact sports and MND then I for one dont think it's a price worth paying.

I watched a recent interview of him on holiday with his family. To be honest it was harrowing to watch , his speech has deteriorated so much yet he showed such a brave spirit it was amazing

Its heart breaking to see...such a well liked player..wish we could wave a magic wand to rid him of this horrible disease...

Such a shame but what an absolute warrior he is. A true inspiration. He was a fantastic player a guy I would have absolutely loved to have seen in a warrington shirt.
