| ...great article about the cup game ,bemoaning the fact we seem to have their number in games that matter. The columnist was griping about the accidental head contact off Gelling for Charnley's try & laughably suggesting that our line speed must have meant we were offside at ptb ,obviously something he never notices with mighty Saints. He also seemed to have a problem with why we managed to get so many quick play the balls .

| I’m not sure how they can tell offside from the tv coverage, they hardly showed the defensive line. Come to that they missed quite a bit of the attack as well.

Was it written by someone called Eamonn?

| I think to expect to win a game, you have to be better than the other team and then at least a little bit more to account for the ref being human. Some decisions will go against you, sometimes it will be frustrating and unfair. To be a winner, you have to be far enough ahead that that doesn’t make a difference.

According to redvee saints just have to be a 6/10 to win most games and a 7/10 against you means you have to be a 10/10.

We still await their congratulations on our perfect performance, then.

| What a team/set of supporters. Their sense of entitlement beggars belief.
When Wigan swept all before them in the late 80's until the mid 90's, half their fan base left 15 mins early (win, lose or draw), and the other half just chanted "Wigan, Wigan, Wigan, Wigan......". A sad group, but pretty inoffensive, on the whole.
Compare them, to the plastic scousers. Insufferable when they win. Bitter as #### when they lose. And as for their chairman.... Words fail me.

| I caught an article on North West tonight the other day where they asked the good people of St Helens who would win in the wigan v Leeds game and most people said Wigan without any real hint of disdain. When asked who would win out of Salford and Warrington a couple hesitantly stated warrington but looked like they had been sick in their mouth when they uttered the word warrington and one couldn't bring themselves to say Warrington and said Salford would win.
I know it was a very small straw poll but considering they see Wigan as their main rivals I did find the reactions interesting.
I thought it was the large number of saints fans that live and work in Warrington that only really cared about beating warrington but it looks like we are their noisy neighbours.

Oh dear, maybe that fan actually thought Salford would win. I constantly see Wire fans bleat on about how Saints are obsessed with Warrington yet just about every other post on here is about St Helens. Very bizarre, maybe some sort of inferiority complex.

No not really. Most Saints fans do their very best to convince us we should have an inferiority complex, but with a rather weak hypothesis.

| Full credit to Salford, they absolutely deserved that win and all the best of luck to them in the final. I know salford is not the city of Manchester and there are other teams in the greater Manchester region but RL needs a strong team in Manchester..
I am not having a dig a Saint helens just that we often hear that Saints fans couldn't care less about warrington but it was interesting to see some of the reactions on TV albeit from a really small sample.
Rivalry in sport is good, it creates interest and a talking point, sky sports thrive off stuff like that and is good for the sport.
I will admit that I hate getting beat by Wigan And Saints because of the pain they have inflicted over the years and for the same reason it is special when we get a win against either.
I am happy to embrace the rivalry rather than deny it doesn't exist.
But each to their own
