Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller.": |
|
|
For all those people now faced with the prospect of having to self isolate and wondering how to pass the time can I suggest something to do that can be interesting, enjoyable, educational and cheap. (This also applies if you have an older relative you wish to help)
Try writing a novel based on your own life. This is something that I started doing as a hobby in 1988. It was inspired initially by three things: my interest and knowledge of the game of rugby league, its history and its characters, a family tree that goes back to 1777 and the old saying about work that "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."
Based on my own experiences, I have now written some general advice about how to get started. Contact me at wgeofflee@gmail.com and I'll send you a copy.
However if you would like to read one of my novels first, try my latest one. It is called "Three Good Years" and has a background of Work, Family Life, Saving the NHS and Rugby League all set between 2006 and 2008.
It is set in a fictional town called Ashurst which is 'located' somewhere between Warrington and St Helens.
It is available from the publisher London League Publications. Visit their web site at www.llpshop.co.uk. Click on Books and then Fiction.

They were the opening lines to my 2010 opus "I'm no stalker".
My therapist has worked wonders with me, since.

I admire your taste and loyalty Mr G but as a Beeb breakfast guy, I was saddened (no not him) to see the object of your 'interest' cutting a somewhat befuddled and neutered figure next to the 'mouthpiece' that is Piers Morgan when my bedside tele lost the BBC temporarily during the recent re-tune.
Sure she's still handsome and is no doubt well rewarded for biting her tongue, but she definitely looked better in her red sofa days

I concur
ITV/ITN/GMB news is too lowbrow for your average Love Island contestant, so, bar Mrs G having Strictly Come Dancing on years ago, and me being in the same room (not very often), I haven't seen the fragrant Ms Reid for about a decade.
