I’ve been saying it since half time in the game. James Child lost control of the game in the first set.

Ratchford was punched on the floor in the first few minutes of the game and in the same set someone came in third man with the knees.

Mr “I didn’t see it” (who saw every infringement Wire did and even made some up), neither penalised them for it, nor asked his touchies what went on [when Catalans are on you can hear every word the referee says because his mic is the main sound you hear rather than the crowd].

That game ended as it did with an all-out brawl between the two teams on the pitch because he allowed Catalans to get away with their tactics all game. He and his touchies also blew for some very questionable things for Wire: a sin bin for a “high shot” that was under the arm pit, two penalties for “high shots” that were across the collar and one penalty for a “high shot” that was a scruff of the neck of the shirt tackle.

He, as my thread said, was a disgrace! And he’s been rightfully demoted for a week.

That's true but he does have 2 assistants and a video ref thats allowed to refer foul play(of a level) to him.

The problem is, you can only miss so much. If the ref missed every forward pass (haha, yes I know these days they do), and if the line judge missed every 'foot in touch' etc I think we would say that he/she is not doing their job. Agreed, they are only human and can not pick everything up, but there is a limit.

Any contact above chest height should be straight red ,coaches would soon get the message when they started running out of players. Rugby players shouldn't need to tackle an opponent round the head or neck.

Warrington would have had 7 red cards worth against Catalans.

For once Clarke is right. Points deductions, even suspended ones, would have had more impact than the mess they came up with so far. If the clubs whitewash it as badly as they have done with the players it's just wrong. Hopefully Warrington and Catalans will help identify those involved and ensure they are issued banning orders.

Yeah Phil Clarke is right, he would definitely 100% say the same if Wigan were in our position! He needs sacking IMO, he's a terrible pundit.

The Touch Judge point is a good one. Some seem to come onto the pitch every time there is a tackle to "inspect" it, yet I can't remember the last time I saw a flag for offside (do they just use radio contact for that now?).
