So after a high tempo game where our line speed was excellent, our error count very low and kicking game spot on, are we on for the double ?

Unfortunately I don't think we can expect that level of effort week in week out as we would burn ourselves out. I guess the motivation for that level of effort came from the players anticipation of a Wembly final. However, they did stick to the game plan and the kicking game was very good so those were two big positives. We are still lacking in the prop department though and Price still has to demonstrate that he can motivate the team for the regular rounds of SL. Our next couple of games will be interesting.

It was a great result and performance, but for me we still don't score enough points. Yesterday we absolutely dominated the second half but Hull were in it right until the mistake at the end! It was anything but comfortable and that was without penalties or errors. For that game plan to bear fruit we need to be practically error and penalty free and to have a referee who isn't missing too much! all of that together is unlikely (especially the referee part). I'd like to see a bit more intent on scoring personally but don't get me wrong I was made up with the performance and effort levels yesterday.

Of your 4 try’s yesterday, 2 came from kicks and 2 came from Hull errors on their own line. To win anything your attack is going to have to improve significantly. I struggle to see Warrington beating Saints because whilst your defence is good your attack just isn’t good enough.

If it hadn't been for a strong Hull team turning up intent on stopping us scoring we could have probably scored a bag full !!

As far as "sorted" is concerned, far from it, though yesterday's result will do wonders for team (and fan) self belief, with 4 tough games coming up. Once again, well done, Wire

We had game plans which worked well, with or without the ball. If we can replicate this, week in week out, we have a team we can be proud of. I fear, however, that we're unable to match yesterday's heroics on a regular basis. But as long as we do it when it really matters, I'll be happy, such is the way RL teams treat the regular season games.

As MPhil12 quite correctly points out, our tries were scored from kicks and mistakes. Not many risks taken. In fact, the only risks we did take, were the kicks on the third tackle, when we really didn't need to. I know yesterday's conditions didnt lean towards expansive rugby, but I struggle to recall us passing the ball through more than 4 pairs of hands on 2 occasions. Patton MUST take more responsibility with the ball, rather than just passing for passing sake.

Stains aren't THAT great, so yes, we're more than capable of either or even both trophies. Just keep Stuart Bloody Pearce away from stadia, for the next couple of months

Hull fan in peace. Congrats on your win yesterday, thoroughly deserved. However, as pointed out, ur attack needs to be far more polished to trouble St’s and a ref who is keener on offside would have worn out this whistle yesterday.

With Ratchford back, I expect our attack to improve as he regains fitness, timing and Austin finds some space as a result.

Even yesterday in difficult conditions, his ability to link up and put doubt in the oppositions minds was obvious, and it's amazing that some people on here continue to question his value to the team.

Without Stef I'd struggle to see us win either the CC or GF, with him I'm much more confident irrespective of who is playing around him.
