| Has Brown signed for next season?
Roberts we know if off and Austin on his way, with Patton here for next season who else would you bring in, if anyone?
Not forgetting Morgan Smith, however do we need to take a look into the market? I would say yes.
Seen a lot of decent halves that have recently come into average sides like Catalans and Salford and turned them around, not single handedly but everyone can see the impact the 2 Aussie lads at Salford and Cars have made.
Are we missing an organising half? Would Matt Smith be worth a punt?

| We need a half with a kicking game and some leadership qualities. Patton blows hot and cold, brown has done a job for us but in all reality wasn't ever the answer. Mellor looks alright to meobvuously Austin is in but for me I'd be looking at another half or a quality fullback and play ratch in the halves.

Matty Smith signed for Catalans months ago.
Mellor with Austin might work for me though.

Good points. Sometimes I wonder why do we not pick up some of these people. Appreciate within a salary cap structure it can be difficult and sometimes they are no better than what we have but I wouldn't have minded Drinkwater or Hastings.
Who is our scouting guru and has he / she got the right agents in his / her contacts book ?

Isn't Steve Price our 'scouting guru' in many respects ? He will surely have seen Drinkwater, Mellor and Hastings, and he will be very familiar with the NRL players as well. I would guess that ( like all SL coaches) Price has a list of players in his head that he would like to sign given the opportunity.
It would be interesting to know if Price gave the nod for Tyrone Roberts' signing. I am sure Roberts was signed mid October, with Price a little earlier, so surely he would have been consulted at the very least. Roberts has been an expensive mistake for us and we are fortunate that he want's out.

Brown's contract finishes in December 2018. As far as I am aware he has not signed a new contract. If he had signed I am sure it would have been announced by now. After Saturday he would not be missed. Needs to practice his kicks for touch.

Yes, it does. It also says Roberts is contracted to 30th November 2020.

| It’s looking like Brown is staying next year, I’m not sure an Austin / Brown partnership is particularly well balanced to be honest but we are where we are. 2019 will be Browns last season and I would hope the search to replace him has already begun.
Luke Gale would be the perfect foil for Austin I think, but there’s little chance of that. Drinkwater I believe is staying in Catalan and Hastings still has plenty of question marks hanging over him, he doesn’t seem like a ‘Price’ type signing.

| I watched Austin in the recent match. He is not the main kicker (out of hand) but he does kick. He is a very lively runner with a great step of his left peg.
