We now know the Super 8s. How many more points do people think we will need to get in the top 4 for the Semi-Finals?

Personally i think we should be getting at least 6 and then there is a few games that could go either way. And of course knowing Warrington there is a chance that we could slip up against a 'lower' or out of form team.

so that would leave us with 35 or 37 points at the end of the year. (more likely 35 as we wont beat saints). Preferably want to finish 2nd as well to get a home semi final and avoid saints.

what are your thoughts?

I think just two wins puts us on 33 pts if we don't beat Saints
That means if Hull finish round 23 on 24 pts they would have to win five of seven and ones against us at home if my calculations based on last year's is the same
I can see a minimum of a fourth finish so we should gear up for Saints in the SF...
35 or 3 wins is a definite 4 th all depends on how Cas and Wigan perform

I know this is premature and not definite but if Cas,Hudd and Wigan all win rd23 then this is our run in but not sure what dates

We need 5 wins from our 8 remaining games to be certain, that's subject to hull winning all their remaining games. We should aim at 5 really but I expect us to try to win every week now as we get to the run in.

I think that barring a collapse on our part and any one of the teams in 5 - 8 going on a fantastic winning run we're in the final 4. We need to finish 3rd or better because an away trip to Saints in the final play off will be darn hard to win. But that said in a one off game anything can happen. For us now every point really does matter.

Win only need 3 wins against the right opposition to make the 4 at the most I think.

Of all the scenarios I may be mad but I'd prefer to play saints away than any other.

Hull is like a 4 pointer...win that 2 more wins and we are guaranteed a top 4 finish...but ignore finishing wherever just to have an easier run cos it don't work...

Yes. We are an unknown quantity in a way, whereas Wigan have played us 4 times now.

Once you get into the final top 4 its basically 2 x "cup finals" to win it. Whilst Saints are obviously the inform team this season, you have to ask whether they will lose any edge in the playoffs (afterall, they've already qualified for the final 4). As regards not wanting to face Saints at their place in a grand final play-off.....2012.

I am not expecting a win against Saints this week but I am expecting Hull to beat Hull KR meaning that we will finish 4th on 29 points, 5 points clear of 5th place Hull FC. That's a huge advantage meaning that the Super 8s are all but finished before they begin. Saints will cruise to the LLS, whilst Wigan, Cas and ourselves fight for home advantage in the play-offs.

2 more wins should be sufficient to see us into the play-offs.

I wouldnt mind finishing 4th and going to saints. Absolutely no pressure on us whatsoever. We will be expected to lose and who knows how saints will perform when every pundit has already engraved their name on the trophy.

How many times in recent seasons has the favourite to win at old trafford at this point in the season actually gone on to win at old trafford? Not many!

Looking at some of the results that Huddersfield,Wakefield, & Catalans are producing at the moment ,there could be some interesting results thrown up in the super 8s.
