Strong squad..... big game for our top 4 aspirations this

Assuming no injuries I guess the only discussion would be around whether there is a bench spot for Patton, or go with King to have a big bench of Sita / BMM / Philbin / King.

Good enough to beat Leeds with some comfort but we need more invention than 80 mins of defence with 5 drives and kick unlike our last meeting.

I thought Patten was very good against Hudds when he came on, he gave us a different type of play from the half with a scoot and pass instead of just a good scoot from Clarke.

I assume Patton's very good stint at hooker versus Huddersfield is probably why he has kept his place and Smith has been dropped this week - we don't need both in the 19-man squad. Plus Patton can also fill-in in the halves if needed. Mitch Brown is a good squad man to bring in but doubt he will play this week.

This may be a better option for him - interchange hooker.

Smith doesn't take on with the ball enough for me if any.

That was the dilemma with the Dwyer/Smith situation - Smith can distribute the ball, whereas Dwyer can make the yards and score. That’s why I pondered Smith at HB... we seem to rely on picking runners rather than taking the line on and Smith may well suit that role. Since he used to play HB in the Leeds academy you’d hope he’d have a decent kicking game too.

He did fill in surprisingly well there last week. Good defence and some really quick distribution. As you say, he probably has a better chance of getting a game there than at half back presently and may be a good fit for interchange hooker in the future. Gives us another kicker on the pitch too.

Yes I'd go with Patton, Smith hasn't kicked on so much since the promose he showed in the back end of 2016. He was probably even better then.

There wasn't a lot between Leeds & the Wire last time we met. The game is there for the taking.
