Drug offence announced in the first week in October, yet only sacked today. Have Cas been paying his wages for nearly 5 MONTHS? Surely it was instant dismissal for gross misconduct, or are Cas' contracts not worth the paper they're written on/Hardaker has a real hot-shot lawyer cum agent?

I think the club could now sue Hardaker for some of his contract back, however it would cost them some money to do so and I don't think they'd even get a sniff of what remained!

I seem to recall Daryl Powell saying that a club sponsor had found a job for Hardacre.

I'm guessing in October they had confirmation of the positive drug test, then possibly now they have been notified of their ruling, guess they have to follow process and cannot sack the player until the body delivers their inevitable verdict.

If they are interested they will be moving on one of Tomkins or escare. I would take either of those at wire over hardaker just because we have had our fill of trouble recently.

Many of them are so thick they don’t understand they are professional athletes.

Instead of looking at Chris Sandow and Todd Carney for the culture of the sport they want to be like, and justifying it by saying “well the NRL is the top league in the sport!”... they need to go and spend some time seeking guidance from people like Anthony Joshua, Adam Peaty, Mo Farah, Andy Murray etc. and take their heads out of this rugby league world they live in thinking that they lead the lives of athletes. Because they don’t.

They need to take this sport out of the rut it’s in and becoming professional athletes to go with their professional wages needs to be the first step.

Instead of us making the news when Hardaker gets done for cocaine use or Tim Smith and Kevin Locke get done for drink driving, they need to get us in the news for the right reasons.

The two years out might just be the change in his life he needs. He could come back and be the best player in the League, even with two years out, he’s that good. And with a more mature and professional life behind him he could be very successful. He’ll be 28 when he’s back.

You just hope he makes the right choices. Like I said above; go and spend some time and seek advice from some real athletes and get away from rugby league or the wrong crowd he’s with outside the game for a while.

Whatever your opinion of the guy let’s not vilify the man.Obviously has his demons + who knows what other personal problems going on in his life but he obviously needs some sort of treatment.

He needs to start respecting his employers, they have an obligation to him and him to them. This is the third club he has let down and he hasn't even pulled a shirt on for this one. He has so much talent but he's wasting it. I was right with my earlier post on this thread.

Anybody care to guess the next three clubs Hardaker will play for?

I reckon it will be Toronto, then Salford, then one of Hull KR or Leigh.
