I can't help thinking the best way to promote international RL is to incorporate club games into the tours as in days of old....even just say the top half dozen teams playing the tourists.

As good as it sounds (would love to see Wire vz NZ at the HJ!) I'm not sure it could work, it would mean NZ bringing over a touring party of 35 - 40 players.

I'd rather it be an international window, with potentially one of Tonga / Fiji / Samoa / PNG etc touring with NZ to play games vs Eng / Wal / Fra etc.

France could play a game vs England mid season then a warm up game vs NZ in October.

England could play France mid season and a warm up vs Tonga / Fiji / Samoa which would be a good game to warm up for a 3 test series v NZ in October.

France could then play games vs the touring Pacific Island team and Wales maybe?

Clubs get plenty of exposure during the season, I'd rather international games take the stage after Grand Final night.

Why play at Anfield a 50,000 capacity, we will have half empty stadium play it at the DW and sell out?

Nothing like a bit of ambition.

Why play the third game at Elland Road? Just have it at Belle Vue or Wheldon Road instead.

Wigan is in the heartland of RL, and the town has contributed immeasurably to the sport as a whole, but internationals deserve big venues. Neutrals and the media would surely be more interested in a match played at one of the world's most iconic stadiums, rather than the DW.

They've announced it early enough, and have a whole year to sell tickets. The last RL match at Anfield got over 40,000 when England weren't even involved.
