So it not been a good season on the pitch, and hasn't been great off it.
We have to be realistic, unless the club do something quick and give the supporters something to look forward to we are looking at a bit of a drop in Season ticket holders, after making a loss last season I really don't think the club can afford this...

So what's the answer ?
A price freeze?
Buy a season ticket, get a shirt free?
Announce major signings as early as possible?

These are a few examples... Personally I would like to see the early bird offer extended until after the fixtures are announced... I know there is a bit of resentment after the fans forum result was that the fans revealed that the majority prefer Sunday's, yet the home fixtures were mainly on a Friday. I think the club need to repair this as a matter of urgency..

Any thoughts ?

The early bird offer was discussed at the recent fans forum, also in that meeting it was said we will be prodominately playing Friday nights which will also help with game turn arounds, especially if sky choose to want our game on TV.

I would guess the big issue is whether or not we are playing in the Championship next season. It certainly looks very unlikely, but I suspect fans will be pretty wary about signing up until it has been confirmed. Then there is the issue of new signings. We have what, about 15 players possibly departing ?, and I guess at least 12 new replacements to bring in. Some fans no doubt will want to hear news on that front also.

So at the moment I think we are a bit in limbo and the sooner we can ensure our SL status the better. If the club can get hold of a real NL star then that would motivate a lot of people to buy ST's. Failing that, perhaps we will see some promotions.

On the subject of our loss for last year, I really dont see that as a big issue. We have one huge fixed asset - the stadium, which is valued at around £14m. Depreciation of that asset goes into the P&L each year and can distort the picture (depreciation and goodwill accounted for approx. £309K). We also seem to have taken on an extra £500k of admin staff costs -presumably R Draper and some extra bodies that he employed ? (33 to 38 staff) which can be reversed. Despite all that we continued to pay down our long term loans and knock a big chunk off the bank overdraft. With our different revenue streams we are still a very well financed club with a very strong backer that most other clubs would love to replicate.

Here would be a winner for many:

Buy a Season Ticket and we'll guarantee the KO times & dates when you do.

Okay highly implausible with TV deal etc, but its the reason that many don't bother with a ST anymore.

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!:

Quote: shinymcshine "Here would be a winner for many

That was supposed to happen, at least for the first 23 games of this new system when it was introduced................ ours lasted two games. Its highly likley (as has been suggested) the club aim to play Friday nights to avoid disruption if selected by SKY (unless they pick us for a god-awful Thursday night).

To main factors when deciding whether to buy a season ticket, costs and how many game you can make. If you dont know either of them, its a toss-up......and the cost will be known. What fans want is certainty. If those games are on those dates I can make x out of 11..... it is/isnt worth it.

I spoke to Karl Fitzpatrick before yesterdays game, making it clear I wasn't happy with Saturday games. He told me that the majority of games next season would be Friday night games, with a few Saturday and Sunday matches. He gave the reason as the player recuperation from concussion needing a minimum of 6 days and most other clubs playing on a Friday, so there is little prospect of anything changing next year from this. Sunday games seem to be phasing out.

Tony Smith said in 2015 that if fans want to see a successful team they need to accept Friday night games to reduce the number of short turnarounds.

He also talks alot about consistency despite us having a high turnover of players in the last couple of years and a different pack at the start of each season.

He's a walking soundbite and one of the reasons season ticket sales will be down.

I have a season ticket for these three reasons (in order of importance):

* Cost benefit
* Priority on Cup / Playoffs / GF so we get a good spot
* Ease of not having to buy a ticket every week

This season, points 1 and 2 have not been met. As soon as I miss a few games the season ticket basically loses it's value.

We're not Man Utd, so I can easily buy tickets to any game in a season the week before, including Wigan, Leeds & Saints.

There's no actual benefit to season ticket ownership if you know you'll be missing a small handful of games.

Even if they sign Inglis & Cronk it's not going to make me commit to paying for games I might not be able to make. I can still pay as I go, more often than not at the turnstiles on match day.

If they want commitment up front, they need to make the season ticket a genuinely valuable asset to me, so that even though I might not get the cost benefit due to missing the odd game, there's still a benefit of being a member vs a non member, other than the odd text message from Chris Hill.

I am a bit unusual in that I do a 240 mile round-trip to see home games but Fridays are a real pain. I travel by train and there are, quite literally, no trains going back after 8pm games finish. My parents still live in Warrington so I can stay with them, but that's taking a big slice out of every other weekend. For Sunday games I can do the round trip and be back home before 8pm. That's a big difference.

Apart from your point of view, the railways are missing a massive chunk of revenue with not running trains late at night . The opportunities with countrywide sport ,music concerts etc would be a big money spinner for train operators even just running normal scheduled trains through the night.

No panic here. I fully expect a number of announcements regarding signings and the coaching situation once it becomes apparent which league we will be playing next year. No decent player with ambition is gonna sign on while we're threatened with relegation. Season ticket sales will follow. Have a good start to the season and fans will come crawling back. I find it difficult to believe what has happened this year will be allowed to happen again

Some of the reason is that they often do track maintenance and inspections overnight.

Do we really need a ST?

Miss a couple of games through Sky rescheduling them or having to work and the benefits no longer exist.
What happened to the discount with local business' that was advertised?
People will say that this was under Roger Draper's reign, but nonetheless our contract was with Warrington RLFC.
Take games like Catalan at the weekend, tickets were advertised by the club for £10.
