Cobb was on a par with Child in terms of terrible refereeing performances. Made it up as he went along and had next to no authority over the players.

Tbh I've still not forgiven him for his performance as a touch judge when we played Leeds at Langtree in the semi final.

This is the problem with some people's perception of officials, they have one bad performance and some people never forgive them.

Do you remember a time when Chris Hill was under par, or Daryl Clark had a poor run, then constantly bring that up too?

Disappointed as I was on the day I'm not quite sure we can lay the blame of our defeat at Cobb's door, Leeds did a number on us, were the better team on the day, played with greater intensity, we didn't show up or were allowed to play take your pick.

Have you a list of Cobb's officiating misdemeanours or even a game changing incident?

please don't think I'm laying the blame at Cobb's feet. We beat ourselves that day but what grinds my gears though is an official waving his flag like a lunatic to call 2 Warrington passes forward and kindly turning a blind eye to the blatent forward passes by leeds.

Anyway, I'm not using that one game as my reason for disliking him as a Ref. I just think he is incompetent and unsure of backing himself when stood in the middle. A bit like Child in the way where he'll decide one rule he's going to crack down on until a player like Roby has a go at him and he stops it. No authority. Instead of telling the player to shut his mouth and get on with the game he'll let the players tell him what to do. No time for it I'm afraid. A promising young Ref but not got the Minerals for it in my opinion.

Two reasons there that have nothing to do with the semi final. I thought he was naff anyway. That game was where I first noticed him and his inconsistencies though.

Anything else you want to pick up on? Only I'm pushed for time and spending it explaining myself to you isn't ideally what I want to be doing.

For me thought the concerning aspect about this is that it is said he retired amidst allegations of bullying and homophobia.

Good referee or not that is the central argument.
