Should have left Patton on for me a future star in the making keep hold.

It is going to be difficult to fit Sandow & Patton into the same team.

As an outsider it seemed strange to take him off for Sandow, out of the three pivots you had playing, Ratchford Patton and Gidley, only Patton was doing anything.

Going to be a great player for years to come, somebody to build a team around and hopefully an international.

Perhaps but there are thing DP can learn from CS over the next season. Stuff LB couldn't teach.

I'm sure lee briers is teaching DP as well . Interesting before the game lee was looking at the flags on top of the stand which way they blowing and throwing grass in the air , speaking to gidley and Patton giving them the heads up and his experience . Patton is defiantly the future. What could sandow teach him that lee caint?

This is like groundhog day, just change the name to Gary Hulse, Gareth O'Brien etc. Let's support him and see how he develops but not declare him the future just yet.

CS does things I've never seen a back other than Alfie Langer do, not stuff that can be taught. Stuff you need to watch and emulate.

I generally agree with your point - we have heard far too often some kid blown up as the next great player before he's achieved anything but Patton has shown evidence of things that Hulse and O'Brien never did at that stage of their career. He has settled in to SL as a natural with no problems handling it.

I think it's right to be cautious before overhype but a better comparison would be guys like Richie Myler, Chris Thorman, Luke Robinson - who went on to have long careers and win respect but maybe didn't develop in to what people thought they might in their early years.

Don't think they had the likes of briers gidly n sandow to learn from. Everything is in place for him to develop only he can make it happen.
