It will be one week before Wembley. The question is, will he rest some players, or will he play his strongest side ? I remember the game against London back in 2012 when they put 62 points passed us just before the cc final against Leeds. We rested a fair number of players, but even the ones that turned up were clearly keen to avoid injury and missing the final. With only one point separating us from the top it's not going to be an easy choice.

I think my choice will be determined by the timing of the next round.

We are involved in a chase for all 3 trophies and cas don't appear to have got the memo from widnes that nobody outside the top 4 have anything to play for in their dead rubber encounters (well done Cas). Bottom line is we can't afford to rest anyone unless we are willing to put the top 2 finish out of our hands.

Your wrong there it's still possible for Cas to get into the top 4.

As for squad selection I guess a lot will depend on Hull's squad for the Catalan game on the THURSDAY, yes thursday yet we play Saturday thanks RFL.

Do you actually believe that a 7 day turn around between fixtures is a disadvantage?
IMO It's hardly a short turn around is it?

Hypothetically speaking here
If Hull FC put out a full side v Catalans and lose, then surely Wolves squad selection is down to TS is it not?
He could choose to rest some of your squad or even the majority of it as a result could he not?
Then your rested players would have had a near 2 week rest prior to Wembley

Surely that would make your club clear favourites for the CC?

The majority of sides that have actually won Grand Finals over the years under the old format have in fact benefited from not having the week off and they have said that playing each week is the better preparation

IF you think that a 7 day turn around is harsh on your club then IMO you are looking for excuses

Well, you may be jumping to conclusions here. You are assuming that Karetaker is not a happy bunny, but the reverse could be true. Because Hull have to play first then we get to see what side they put out. if they rest players, then perhaps TS should rest players. If they lose, then perhaps we play full strength and go for the hubcap.

As you rightly point out, a 7 day turnaround is absolutely fine. The disadvantage is with Hull perhaps, not Wire

Play a strong squad, and play hard. This is, after all, Rugby League. If the players go in half-hearted....nah, don't even want to think about it.

It wasn't me that said then top 4 was done and dusted, I think it was James Rule? Widnes CEO? It was when he was moaning that top 8 should start on 0 points same as the qualifiers. I disagree entirely that cheapens the first 23 games no end there would be far more dead rubbers that way.

The three quarters still need some work and perhaps try a new combination. Or two. No good resting your forwards if you want to see how your 3/4's run. So few changes possibly to the team, BUT, as has been said above, depends on Hull team and performance with Catalan. Who would be a coach?

Your right I'm not unhappy, just annoyed with the RFL with the scheduling, they knew who was in the challenge cup and yet we get a short turnaround for Saints who the sky muppets think are the best team in SL,agree with the we may have a slight advantage being able to see what team Hull put out for the Cat game but Imo we should be on a level field with no advantages full stop.

What has us playing Saturday got to do with the RFL? 2:00pm on a Saturday seems more like the clubs choice than the RFL, which begs the question why didn't we play on the Friday like we have done before even when not on Sky?

This could be the time to regret slack performances during the regular season which led to defeats in games we should have won.

Hull win, we have to win to stay with them.
If they lose, we only have to beat them when we play at the KC to go top so rest players.
