never mind that, whats the reason behind penny and(to a lesser interest) lineham's abscence?

Not sure but the Total RL website says this "This week’s League Express contains an extensive interview with Warrington’s head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith, who has revealed the reason behind the absence of Kevin Penny and Tom Lineham."

I'll have to get hold of a copy to see what he says, but I'm hoping KP is out due to some slight injury that will heal well in time for Wembley.

Its worth getting a copy and reading as it'll take a while to transpose it on here, basically though, everything we've said on here about Evans, Russell and king, and their performances being toss recently, he's said the opposite, apparently russell is in top form.

And penny and lineham were dropped according to lack of form.

I just spoke about this on another thread, as I said on there I'm not one for questions TS but King is playing well, I'm shaking my head on that one, did he actually watch the saints game, the obsession with Russell is doing my head his positives do not outweigh the negatives, I don't care what the issues really are with Penny and Lineham they should be playing,to quote TS in the paper they were dropped for form in that case King and Russell should be dropped

I'm getting more and more concerned about TS, especially with his treatment of Penny. I don't there is anyone else who watches
the games who would not have Penny in the side. I just hope TS doesn't turn into an Arsene Wenger who is deluded and out of touch.

Well this is all very strange, according to Mikej on the 'wingers' thread;

Penny and Lineham are carrying injuries. They are "nearly there" hence why they make the 19 (incase somebody has to pull out) but not 100%. TS has obviously made the call not to put them into these games and let them get match-fit through the reserves. As regards ormsby and an acrobatic dive .............. no, the launch point would have been too far out, likely to result in him being pushed out. Would an out-and-out winger have headed to the line quicker off the mark and with more initial launch speed....... possibly.

I think the pass to Evans was several yards forward too.
