Pat Moran has been selected to tour Australia next year with England Academy, I haven't seen him play but would like to hear opinions on him from those who have.
Also I think Morgan Smith is in the squad too.

From the U19's matches I've watched Pat always seems to make a big difference when he's on the field. Very strong runner who wins a lot of collision (great step for a big prop too), and is a solid defender. He was only 17 playing in the 19's last year. Yes, if you look at his playing record he has played all but two games I think, despite being a first year. So the team certainly depended on him week in week out last season, playing against much bigger 19 year olds, and more than holding his own. He is not particularly big, certainly a lot smaller than our mainstay Daniel Murray. I would say he is hard working, never takes a step back and has good pace for a prop. Should be interesting to see how he goes next year - I don't know if he is still growing but he will surely have put on a bit more body muscle and with a bit of luck will have picked up some tips from Hilly about body positioning and finding those small gaps that turn 5-7 yards into 10-12. If he is picked for the Academy team it will be interesting to see how he performs against his own age group, it's a nice reward for all the hard work he has put in.

Not wishing to be an old curmudgeon or belittle the lad but I didn't see anything remarkable in those video clips...Not at all comparable to clips of Ben Currie at the same age.....Seems likely his *Agency* is trying to big him up.

Think u are being a little harsh Brian I'm sure against his own age groups he would stand head and shoulders above the rest..

Maybe you should all watch some U19s games before commenting?

The only thing for certain is the Leeds agent is very good at pushing and promoting his players and uses these forums to do so.
