| Doing OK (ish) up to half time
Great opening stints from Graham and Hill
Young Williams looks out of his depth. Too much kicking early on from Widdop (who's thankfully toned it down)
Anonymous going forward from SO'L and (bar that run 5 mins from the end of the half) Farrell.
NZ look good, and unlucky to go in all square

| Crabtree "getting bad" a la Richard Prior in Stir Crazy.....hilarious/embarrassing
Williams now starting to look more accomplished
Hill Graham causing chaos
If we love it up from here, we need shooting

| Think your being massively unfair Williams really grew into the game and certainly a successful competitive debut. Olaughlan also had a good game not his biggest fan but cannot really fault him, made few errors but who doesn't he defended well and was effective in attack

| Proud Englishman
Strong TEAM performance. Not the prettiest game, but some big efforts from many.
Ferres may not be Wayne Pearce, but manages to come up with the goods.

| It would appear that our pack gradually wore them down in particular Burgess who is a beast. Nevertheless they were always dangerous and may grow into this series whereas I think we were at or best, especially in the second half.

| I don't think.that was our best by far... Great pack performance Williams should be full of confidence and hopefully improve test upon test
Backs were good today but I think we can expect more from them too.

| Should be a cracker next Saturday, NZ will learn from the mistakes they made second half. Think we will raise our game too.

| A superb turn out from Hull. Great to see a packed crowd. We played well in the end. But what I can't work out ... is myself.
When Warrington play I'm so hyped up. If it's Wigan v Saints ... I still really watch it. But when England play I'm not revved up.
It doesn't make sense. Why? (I suppose born four miles from Wilderspool and dad taking me to ground aged 4 makes a difference) but still a bit strange.

It was 80k for the Olympics. It's since been scaled down to 56k. Apparently tickets sold at the 40k mark so far.

I think it's more to do with the fact we are not used to supporting England than something else like club rivalries for example
A man u supporting colleague of mine will not even entertain the England soccer team because he can't watch a team with (at the time of the discussion) terry lampard and Gerrard in it. .. he had zero interest in it.
It does take some time to cheer for Wigan players, and I do remember finding it extremely odd shouting "come on Edwards" when GB played the Aussies at Wembley. ..but you soon get wrapped up in it. .. there will be one or two RL equivalents of my Man United colleague (Dropkick Murphy I'm guessing)
I think it's the lack of frequency of the international game that's the problem. by the time the next England game comes along we've lost the impetus of fans support . .. hopefully lots of those yesterday have now decided to go the next game because supporting your country especially when it's winning is actually quite good. ...
I was quite nervous watching that game yesterday it was a good spectacle at Hull, a decent game, and jiffy got to have a dig at some of the English union boys on the red button show. ..

| I can't help thinking that ,to be taken seriously on the international stage & by the Rah Rah gang, the scrum in its present form needs to be worked on by the RFL. Either make the sham scrums competitive again, which i doubt we have the forwards for these days, or remove them altogether. They are a joke.
Having said that ,we were much better in the second half & deserved the win & i thought all our props were excellent today. Should be interesting to see what NZ have left in the bag for next week.

| The myth that the rfl had an impetus on the scrum, teams choose not to compete in the scrum, they could quite easily turn it into a proper scrum should they so choose.

| Don't see the concern about scrums , they are hardly a big selling point in Union even Brian Moore thinks they are a mess. To be honest I think the comparison between our game and Union is less and less relevant. The aims and techniques are drifting ever further apart.
