The best moments of the departing players thread got me thinking about the best and worst moments of this season. Obviously there are going to be quite a bit more in the latter.

Best:
Roy v Saints
Joel last minute v Widnes
I suppose the World Club Series even though we lost

Worst:
Cup semi
Leeds away Super 8s
Cas away Super 8s
Widnes away
Wigan at home Super 8s

Ormsby try at Salford
Penny try v Leigh
Leigh singing "are you watching Super League" when they took the lead at our place then finishing bottom of the Qualifiers (only joking Leythers)
Seeing more Academy players play for us than I can ever remember
Big Roy try at Saints
Whenever Catalans turned it on at home (best team to watch in the league when they're in the mood)

Worst was the walk out of Headingly when it was pouring down after that terrible performance in the semi or being 'nilled' at home to Wigan.

Worst:

Definitely getting beat in the semi final of the challenge cup by a team that we would then have to watch go on to give the worst performance in a challenge cup final ever, all the while knowing damn well we'd have put up a better fight.
Being nilled on our own turf by Wigan.
Ormsby's disallowed try against St Helens at magic weekend, god dammit that one still pieces me off.

Best:

Penny's try V Leigh.
Roy V Saints.
Hammering Leeds at their place on Sinfields 500th game.
Chris Hills dummy against Saints, lol
Complete domination of Wigan at home.

That's about it, lol.

Worst

Challenge Cup Semi
Inept performances v Widnes,Cas and Hudds away. Hudds,Cas and Wigan home.
Ratch looking miserable at full back
Russell's constant injuries
Not seeing Grix this season

Best

Last minute v Widnes.
Wigan home (reg season), Saints away (S , Leeds wins.
Re emergence of Kev Penny.
Jack Johnson and a number of other academy players making the step up.

Best moments..
the St George game and Eto Nabuli's high shot on penny. A proper gerrimoff moment that never happened. ..

Kevin penny playing well and still giving fans excitement whenever he gets the ball. ..

Joel's length of the field effort v Catalan

Chris Hill. .....that's it ....just him being Chris Hill.

Worst moments
pretty much everything that followed the St George game. ..
the woeful standard of refs and video refs. .

Oh and the split of the league into super 8's and qualifiers. ......garbage. ....I'll laugh my tits off if wakey stay up. ...What was The point of that.

Best moment........
Playing St George & then beating Leeds at home in March and walking away from the HJ thinking this really is our year.

Worst moment.
Just about every single game that we lost, even when we won we weren't that good.
Not signing Andre Savillo. He is class and would made for a fantastic 2nd row of Currie and Andre.

Best moments:
World Club Series at the HJ
Beating Leeds away
Confirming our place in the top 8 after worrying we would be in the middle 8s.
Monaghan finishing with 145/145
Roy's try vs Saints

Worst moments:
Beginning to believe that we would actually end up in the middle 8s after that dismal defeat at Hull KR.
Ormsby's brilliant but disallowed try at MAGIC when Harrison was 'tackled' by a saints player's finger nail (only to see similar tries awarded in other games this year)
CC semi final defeat (again)
The first three S8 games and vs Hudds
Monaghan leaving

Best Moments:
The wins against Leeds & Wigan
Last game against St Helens
The progress of Ben Currie
The almost forgotten man Brad Dwyer making a massive impact on return

Worst Moments:
Wigan in the Super 8's
CC Semi Final
Cas in the Super 8's
Hull FC at Home (really left me deflated how we get up for the big games but couldnt mix it with those around us)

Best...the total redemption of Kevin Penny, especially against Saints which sees his career come full circle. What commitment and self belief to keep at it.
Worst....why bother, it's over now

Worst: nilled by Wigan at home. Bad enough on its face, but I thought it was my last game before I moved away.

Best: Saints last game of the season and our last home game; excellent party atmosphere at both. Honorable mention for Penny, loved watching him all year.
