| I know Roy has taken a lot of stick and many are not happy with his contribution or lack of it.
What did we expect to get?? The Roy asostasi if 5-10 years ago? He is older and just cannot do what he has done in the past I'm sure he would love to bring that for to super league and if we had signed him in his heyday we would have one of best forwards in the world...
However I don't think he is utilised correctly, he has the fasted play the ball of any of our props by a country mile. Why is he not starting the game enabling us to get a roll on from the start giving Clarke a ptb he can make a run from dummy with the Def line not set
We've looked good when we get the quick ptb and with Clarke ratchford running from dummy to make the quickest yards, do this bring on simms once the defence is a little more tired n get on top?
He has little impact from the bench I know I'll be shot down.over this but take away the expectation we had for him has he really been that bad or has he just not lived up to his reputation of ten years ago?? If we signed morly now we would be saying the same thing about him....

| My opinion; he should never have been signed, never mind re-signed.

| This is a good point I don't think Roy is as bad as everyone says he is. he never does anything wrong just doesn't play as many mins but when he is on he tackles hard I also think he should start with hilly then bring sims on

| He makes some handling errors, and those tend to be when he has just come on fresh.
However when he is tackled he gets up quick to play the ball, but we never seem to use that to our benefit.
So blame Roy or blame TS?

| Should he stay or go really comes down to how much he's costing/taking from the salary cap, and what plans, if any, there are to sign a new prop(s).
If we're bringing in an established prop to play with Hill, Sims and A.N. Other (Harrison/Westwood?) then he, or rather the cost of keeping him, is unnecessary. If there are no plans to bring any other props into the club and/or his salary is reduced to take into account his age and what he now offers on the pitch then reluctantly I'd say it's worth giving him one last year.
Also have to take into account what else he brings to the squad. Is his experience and advice/guidance for the younger forwards beneficial, or does he merely show our youngsters how to stay warm and comfortable when sat on the bench for prolonged periods.

| I z certainly feel a reduced wage would be essential I don't however believe that he came here for a payday and is happy to just warm the bench. He is an international forward who has played his career in thevbest league n won titles doing so, I don't think them type of players just give up, their body cannot do what their head n heart wants them.to do!!
My feeling is he will stay at no viable replacement for him at the moment but we need to utilise his ability better n that for me is starting him

| And replace with who??
I'm sure he was signed primarily for his quick play the ball so why are we not taking advantage of it?? He is not a forward that will come on and turn.our fortunes around when being dominated...

| He should go for me , Would Rather have a Jake Emmit or a Oliver Wilkes standard of Prop that can actually do the minutes to give Hilly and Simms a rest. Them Poor fellas need Medals for carrying our forward pack this year. Lets reward them With A James Graham or a Tom Burgess

| Asotasi seems to me to be protecting his body from any further injury and collecting the last few coins for his retirement pension. I have never seen him talk with any passion about the club, he is virtually invisible compared to Simms, and a management accountant would have a severe bout of apoplexy if he were to calculate the cost per minutes played. I can not imagine how some of the other players in the changing room feel about him - Hilly in particular, probably Benny as well. And the kids like Currie and Philbin must be completely perplexed. There have been a fair few errors made over the past couple of seasons with regards to player recruitment and (possibly retention), and Asotasi is certainly one of the symptoms.

| Good to see a bit of realism!!!
Simms runs hard n tries but doesn't make the yards He has 3pp in to tackle him which slows play down same with hill they rarely get a play the ball before markers are set. More of the same will leave us in no better a position
We will not see a pack.like we had few seasons ago anytime soon we underachieved then.which was masked over by few cc wins
If we can get better than we already have for sure let him go to free up space on the Cap if not I feel were better keeping hold he is still better option than phobia n England

succinctly put. i know what the stats said last week about roy, i know the perception of the quick play the ball, but i think with him it comes down to the intangibles.
You dont ever get the impression he's broke a sweat, never mind coming off the field gasping for breath after a heavy stint.
you never get the impression that he's trying to dominate or intimidate the opposition forwards or half backs, in order to change their game.
He hardly ever puts his hand up to do a line clearing charge leading drive(which then leads to that quick ptb)
you dont see him being supportive to the young forwards after a mistake,
And as mentioned recently, if any biff takes place when he's on the field he's never anywhere near it, that issue with saints at the magic weekend last year, i was at the game and got a phone call off my old man, who swore for three minutes straight over his reluctance to get involved of that, when i started watching Warrington, i was told the mantra was one in, all in, they can't send everyone off.
you look at that, and the other bits, he seems to be failing in his remit of being a prop forward.
