| Anybody else feel absolutely disgusted with the shambles forced on us by the West Yorkshire Police? Catching the next available coach was supposedly done in the interests of crowd safety, but it seems to me that it resulted in the inevitable 'every man for himself' attitude from some. Around us this resulted in pensioners and families with young kids being pushed about and struggling to get on the coach together.
Headingley may make a good semi final venue for local teams (though I have my doubts), but access from the motorway and the roads and (lack of) parking around the stadium make it all but unusable if two 'away' teams arrive with large followings.

| Yes it was total chaos. I'm amazed that a premier sporting venue such as Headingly haven't plans in place to deal with such a situation.

| Our coach passed your pick up points on the way out and must admit it looked chaotic. Headingley really isn't fit for purpose when it comes to hosting such a big game. We only got into the game with five minutes to spare and had to leave our coach not knowing where he would be when we came out. We didn't get back into Hull until 5.30.
On a slight aside I hope the young girl who the ambulances were attending is okay.
Great game, great support, best wishes for the rest of the season.

| Getting the train was easy both before and after. Headingley is the best ground in Super League in my opinion. Loads more character than the new Lego set grounds in Wigan, Hull and Huddersfield, but far better than other old school grounds like Wheldon Road and Belle Vue.
Looking forward to going back on Friday.

| "Headingley best ground in superleague" you're havin a larf, aintcha. It's garbage. Large sections of the ground open to the elements. even the new Carnegie stand. Main stand has wooden cramped seating. Bottlenecks at the corners for species trying got get to their places.
Outside their are few facilities, poor rail link, poor road link to the motorway. Absolute dump of place, and that's not just cos we got beat today

No, you're right on all counts - and we did win!

| Absolutely rubbish venue for a semi. Got p*ssed wet through, with no cover. Set off for the game with plenty of time but got there with only 20 minutes to spare. Crawled the last few miles to the ground in traffic.

| There's two train stations within a 10-15 minute walk, which get you to Leeds in no time. Trains run direct from Leeds to most towns that have a Super League team, including Warrington and Hull.
How that constitutes poor rail links I have no idea.
I've never travelled to any match anywhere via any method other than the train so I can't comment on roads to any ground, but I like Headingley a lot.

You're not catching the vibe. Remember, Old Trafford was deemed a totally unsuitable ground for the Grand Final after you lost in 2012.
How was it at the Bar in the station btw? Any likely suspects awaiting fellow likely suspects to arrive (the other football code)?

| We went into the Wetherspoon's in the station for about 30 seconds, which was enough time to discover that it was too full to sit down and have breakfast, so Maccies had to do instead. It mostly looked full of Hull KR though. That was just after arriving at 10.15am.
Didn't set foot in another pub all day so no idea who was about.

Headingley's main street is probably around the same distance from the ground as Warrington town centre is from your ground. It would probably be half the size as your town centre so has plenty of facilities.
If you class the Carnegie Stand as being open to the elements how do you feel about your own ground with its unproportioned high roofs compared to the height of the terrace?
Headingley's definitely a horrible place to lose a game at, especially if your the massive favourites

Doesn't surprise me. It's busy on most days. On LUFC match days though it attracts a few none-scarf wearers, particularly when playing 'interesting' opponents

You really didn't need anything after that.
Seriously though, whilst it isn't the worst ground in Super League, it's a long way from the best. And it definitely isn't an appropriate stadium/location to accommodate 13,000+ fans all travelling in from outside the city.
The train may be great for those who can afford it, but a family of four could have gone today for £20 on the official club coaches compared to £65 on the train.

What it's missing is a big carpark. Other than that i think it's comparable to most new grounds. Leeds is a pretty big place, it's not reasonable, unlike Warrington, to just expect a centralised location with good motorway links.
On a similar theme, I loved Wilderspool. Very atmospheric. Good bar at the back of the Railway End. A bit too much sand on the pitch though

Give over, Wilderspool had the best grass pitch anywhere in world sport for several years. We covered it in manure every other week.
