Not long to wait now for the return of Rugby League to The Halliwell Jones Stadium starting against local rivals Widnes Vikings on Sunday 28 December, 3pm.

Fast forward to January and a double header on Sunday 25 January, first up Toulouse, 1pm, followed by Chris Bridge Testimonial Match against Hull KR, 3.30pm.

Haha - imagine standing in the freezing cold for roughly four hours watching two pre-season friendlies back to back. Her lad is defo gonna ask me if we can go, but he's got absolutely no chance!

Not for me 2 games in the depths of winter & what contempt by the club to use such a game for Chris Bridge's testimonial who has been a great servant to the club. HKR won't bring many fans for a friendly in January. Warrington did the same for another great servant of the club ,Lee Penny.....absolute disgrace.

Surely that calls for an immediate ban ? Come on FMC, you are not doing your job.

But seriously, if people don't want to stand around the HJ for hours they can simply turn up for the Bridge match ? I think the problem for the club is that it will be expensive to open up the HJ on two separate days for these matches, but the players still need a competitive match before the start of the season. It is probably one of the last decisions that Andy Gatcliffe made.

With working mainly outdoors for over forty years this shouldn't be a problem, well OK perhaps a sweatshirt or polo neck? Pn a bit itchy sweatshirt it is, gloves optional.

Jesus H Christ did nobody attend games during the winter era ffs. Boo hoo it's a bit cold...
