| I see Richard Horne's contract is up at Hull and he has been told he won't be offerred a new deal.
Horne is a player I've always admired, a classic stand-off, who has perhaps stayed at one club too long; certainly in the last couple of years he has stagnated at Hull and should have moved on.
Nonetheless, a player I'd like to see in the P&B, and such a move would I think rejuvenate him in the way John Woods move from Bradford to us did for him.
Quite why Hull feel the Jim Royle of half-backs Leon Pryce is a better option the good lord and Pryce's agent only knows but, in Horne, someone could make a sherwd aquisiiton as a result.

| I think he's awful personally. Never understood the hype. Isn't he retiring anyway.

| I agree on Richard Horne. Hull are a much better team with him. I'd of had him any time over the last 7 years.
But his been a bit of an injury magnet of late.
I think his best is behind him although he had a great 2nd half against us when the season started.
I think next season there is no room for older players under the new format.
Horne might be good for another season but a 2 year deal is a risk with the salary cap unchanged.

| I've always rated him but let's be fair, he is 32+ and has been ravaged by injuries in recent years. Would be a pointless signing.

| Horne struggles with injuries and his diabetics, Lee Radford said at the start of the year his body can't stand 20 games a season, right time to retire for him. Personally on this seasons form and fitness Pryce is a much better player, he totally outclassed Horne in our recent game with Catalans.

| Pryce has a presence about him and you could argue a case that St Helens haven't been the same since he left.

He has been offered a coaching job at Hull, could maybe still play for a championship team aswell. Maybe Donny and team up with Cooke again.

| Horne has been in decline for a while, but when he came through he was about the best British halfback I can remember seeing at that age. He was a first team regular aged 17 and in that Shaun McRae team, before Jason Smith came along, Horne was their key player, at 17! Unbelievable.
Horne has had a decent career but I wonder if he played too much too young and it took its toll on his body, because he became a good SL player rather than a great, which his early talent suggested he would be.
There were quite a few promising halfbacks coming through at that time: Horne, Cooke, Thorman, Orr, Deacon, Briers. Briers was the only one that kept on getting better when the others plateaued.
