| Laithwaite has in my opinion come on leaps and bounds. He runs it in hard and is decent in defence. I think that this has been one of the pluses of morley and carvell moving on.

In terms of the way he takes the ball up & his relentless defence I thought last night that we could well have our long term replacement for Super Ben.

| I think the more minutes he gets this year the better. As above, Westwood will need replacing soon and Waterhouse hasn't got long left. Laithwaite and Currie could develop into very strong back rowers for us for a long while, and grow with this team. Problem lies with when Harrison, Waterhouse and Wood come back into the team, the minutes that these guys get will reduce dramatically.
Could be seeking game time from London/Bradford?

| Laithwaite was unlucky to break his ankle last year and hence to be out of action for 9-10 weeks. He was due a run in the team, but in the end had to wait for the end of the season to get a few games under his belt. He is certainly looking a lot more confident and experienced now - not sure if he will be another Westwood though, early days still.

| The early signs of success for Laithwaite are indicative of where my measures of success are going to come from this season. If, by the end of the year, at least two or three of Laithwaite, Evans x 2, Riley, Ormsby, Dwyer and O'Brien are seen as good quality established young SL players that will do me, along with a top 5 finish and decent cup run of course!
As others have alluded, we need to be succession planning for the likes of Westwood and Trent and this is a sustainable and rewarding way to do it. That should allow us some flex on the cap to bring in a small number of top quality players to bolster the high quality youngsters we will hopefully develop.

What he said.these guys are our future and future is the optimum word.while we still have Westwood and Waterhouse etc we need to make sure we hold onto these young lads.

I would love to think that our future is already in our youth lineup, but the onus is on these lads to prove that they have the ability to take those shirts when our current players retire. I don't want you to think that I am writing them off as I'm not.
In an ideal world curry and laithwaite will be our future second row, but they have the duty to make sure the club don't feel they have to make any transfers to replace Benny and Trent by performing consistently and fulfilling their massive potential.

| Been very impressed with him, in fact all the young lads have been great this year which is a good sign. I used to envy the youngsters Wigan, Saints and Leeds had.

| He's impressed me in the last 3 games, more so than Currie, which I didn't expect at the start of the season. We may not have been entertained in the way we have been accustomed to so far this year, but as someone who doesn't get to see the U19's, I have enjoyed the emergence of Laithwaite, O'Brien, Riley, B Evans and Ormsby, and continue to think big things of Currie and R Evans. It's a different kind of enjoyment, but I'm liking it all the same.
