Now the dust has settled, having watched the game back, it has still left me quite unimpressed.

BUT... I'm reminded of the 2011 season, where we were arguably at our peak, we got a bit of a lesson from Huddersfield at Cardiff in the opening round. People were criticising a lot of things but mainly focusing on how J Monaghan wasn't good enough and Hodgson was past it. How wrong could we have been, let's hope lightening strikes twice.

Also, in the early stages, when we were moving the ball around and getting at the edges, we looked very good. Just silly penalties and a few poor kicking options cost us. Then Saints took the game away from us.

On saying that, I generally agree with your post Barbed. It is a long season and we wouldn't be the first team to start the season poorly but come good. We have lost a lot of what kept our ship steady and have had a lot of changes. This may be a transition year for us while everyone beds in together but come the end of the season I think we'll be up there competing. Let's not forget Leeds have repeatedly shown us all you only need to finish 5th

All that being said, if I was a Mr Waterhouse or Mr Asotasi, I'd skip the video session. Tries 2 and 3 for St Helens do not cover them in glory. Better workrate required.
