A player who was rated by a lot of wigan fans. No doubt they'll now be coming on here and saying he's rubbish.

| Certainly brings some pace to the side. Would think he will be second choice behind Ratch though next season.

He was indeed a good young player who didn't quite make the progress many of us expected, but he had Sam Tomkins in front of him. It appears things didn't work out for him in Australia, good luck to the lad I hope he does well.
He has very good feet and is quick, his problems were a bit like Shaun Ainscough, handling and positional play. Where is he going to play (he is about 20/21) so can't play academy.

Sad he's not coming back here tbh. He had some serious issues with the high ball in the first team at Wigan and Hull but he's such a dynamic attacker. He will cause no end of trouble with ball in hand and if he can iron out some defensive frailties will go on to become a top class player IMO.
He's playing for the Scots in the World Cup.

Highly doubt that any genuine Wigan fan will say that. He is a very good player, brilliant in attack but does have issues with the high ball and positionally, as has previously been said but they can be worked on. He will go on to be a top player for you IMO. My question is though is where will he play? He moved on from Wigan as he was behind Tomkins, doesn't make sense for him career-wise to be doing the same behind Ratchford a few years on.

| Remember reading he was awful on the Hull forum before we played saying he couldnt catch.
He was their stand out player in defeat and didnt drop any high balls.

| The news from Wigan supporters is great. It sounds as though he is a real running talent. It never worries me where we will play him.
If he's good enough we'll find a space.

He is a great runner you are right. I always remember at the Magic Weekend when he was playing for Hull, he was trapped in goal with defenders surrounding him and he somehow weaved his way out of it. Brilliant Footwork. I imagine he is a much better player now too.

Gents. I stand corrected. Three of the decent Wigan fans that come on here still rate him. Personally I think it's great that a bit of talent is coming back from Aus. we can't afford to lose too many.

Your joking right? Atkins signed a contract extension just before the end of season.

He'll probably take over from Ratchford, when he goes back to Salford once his contract is up.
