| As of today it's been 58 years, 4 months and 25 days since we were last crowned champions. The small matter of 21,679 days, and no fewer than 2,411 matches.
For me, it's six weeks shy of 25 years since I saw my local team in the flesh for the first time (as they beat Bramley in the John Player Trophy). 422 games later and I'm still waiting for the biggest prize.
Saturday can't come quick enough now. C'mon the Wire.

Who cares? We have won the same end of year play off competition 3 times since then, but they changed the format and hence the winners description , that is all.We still won the tournemant!
A lot of emphasis is merely being placed on the title " champions", when a vast amount of supporters don't even recognise the winners of the sky cup as the real champions, so why get so concerned about names.
We were still over the moon when we won the end of years playoffs in whatever form. At the time we didn't care about the title, just the trophy.
For me it's just over 50 years 6 months watching and I'm happy with already having witnessed us winning the biggest prize, the Challenge Cup.

| Are we really all that bothered about cups anyway when we watch a team that entertains us with thrills & spills every week ? We have a bigger measure of success than teams & supporters that rely on silverware to judge their seasons....we have excitement.
We watch a team, the only team, that has never been out of the top flight of Rugby League in its lifetime & surely that is a better measure of success than a piece of silver ware .

Absolute and total poppycock. Some neanderthals might not, but the "vast amount" of supporters recognise that the team who wins tomorrow are the champions. We were not champions in 2011. Wigan were not champions last year. Ask almost anybody who was champions last year and the answer will be Leeds. Bury your head in the sand all you like. You are wrong.

It is as it is. I think this season is the one in which our team and coaching staff has fully realised that fact.
Whether we all agree with it is another matter.

Spot on, and for the two weirdos asking above "Who cares?" and "Are we really all that bothered about cups anyway?" well you two odd balls might not, but I certainly do.

| I want us to win every competition we enter. The GF is currently the biggest prize and I want us to win that.
There is not enough emphasis on winning the league but that's just the way it is.
Win this and the 50 years blah blah is gone.

Annoys me when people refer to Super League or the Grand Final as the "Sky Cup". For one it's not a cup, it's a title/trophy. The title of "Champions". You are not champions for winning the LLS, nor are you champions for winning the Challenge "CUP", you are champions for scoring more points than your opponents at Old Trafford in the Super League Grand Final.

Don't get annoyed, just re read what you have written and consider the fairness in the proposition that will see a team, hopefully ours, crowned Champions for scoring more points than an opponent in a Grand Final.
My view it would appear differs to yours, but, I won't be annoyed in the slightest if we lift the play off trophy tomorrow
