Just reading this from the BBC site, about it being unfair that the CC Semi is being held in Leigh.
The quote from the RL speaks volumes about the fact that the long-term 'experiment' of a RL fan-base in the South of England was (and is) a pipe-dream.

| Well at least we are playing Rovers on Sunday now instead of FC, should be an easier game, that was nice of FC to give up their spot for their much loved neighbours.

| There's certainly enough support in the capital to make a rugby league team viable, but NOT in Twickenham, NOT associated with Harlequins and NOT with the current level of exposure the RFL provide for the club. There's a lot of clubs playing the game, I've played for one myself and getting fixtures isn't hard, but no on wants to trapse down to Twickenham to an empty stadium to watch the local side get humped.

| IMO Londons problem is the name. Not the Broncos part, but the London part. I think that a relocation to a specific area or town and being named as such would attract far more locals. From my experience at the away game this season I suspect that moving and rebranding the club as the Gillingham Goshawks (for example) would attract more local support from the Gillingham/Medway area alone than London have managed from the whole of the city.

We've only done that because you don't like us.

| Not if you just rebranded the current regime as the Goshawks they wouldn't. The people who have enough passing interest to think about going will be aware of the clubs history. The 'Broncos/harlequins/broncos again' (I can't even list the areas they have been based in) have become a nomad team, why would you get excited about them moving to your area? You'd know full well they'd be gone again within 3 years. The mismanagement so far has killed anything they might have been. Too many bridges have been burned in too many areas. All this 'presence in the capital' talk is crap. The media is now based in Manchester and there is a big enough amateur scene that has grown despite Broncos, not because of them. Cut the cord and let a new club grow organically out of those roots.

| They might be better trying to start a seperate competition darn sarf.... say, have the Bronquins playing at a lower level & starting a league with Hemel, Skolars, Oxford ,Gloucester (?) & Bristol & some of the better amateur teams fom the catchment area to try & create local rivalries.

We'd best wait until Broncos have steamrollered Wiggin out of the cup.
